Fortinet Security provides online certificate status protocol (OCSP) to check the revocation status of digital certificates in real-time. OCSP is an alternative to certificate revocation lists (CRLs) and allows clients to verify that a certificate has not been revoked since it was issued. When a client requests the status of a certificate, the OCSP responder signs a response confirming the certificate is valid or providing the revocation date.
