Alteryx Core Certification
Superpowers: Getting dirty data off the streets, blending and prepping data
faster than a speeding bullet, whipping data into shape with transformations
and parsing, and writing out data to multiple files. The Core Certified
superhero has mastered the tools that create the foundation for data
preparation and analysis.
Analytic Arsenal:

Alteryx Advanced Certification

Superpowers: Adding the ability to alter space and time with spatial analysis and
automations, use macros to create workflows with superhuman speed, bestow
analytic powers to others through applications, and create reports to display and
share results.

Superpowers: The Expert Certified superhero is able to solve the most complex
analytic problems, including predictive analysis, in-database workflows,
advanced apps and macros, and has a full command of Alteryx Designer.

The Alteryx Certification Program gives you the opportunity to build your skills, prove

Certification Exams
We know that the real test doesn’t happen during a 2 hour exam, it happens when your
manager tells you the report needs to be done by noon, when you’re tasked with finding
valuable insights for your company, and when you need to solve complex problems. Life
presents plenty of opportunities for you to be tested, so we design our tests to help
prepare you for yours.
We’re dedicated to making certification accessible and available to everyone, so all of
our online exams are free, you can take them as many times as you need to pass, and

Q: How can I take a certification exam?
A: Alteryx Designer Core and Advanced exams are available on-demand in the
Community. Simply log in to your Community account, go to the Certification page, and

Prep Guide Q: What will I need to take the exam?
A: You will need to be signed in to your Community account to take the exam. It is
recommended that you have Alteryx Designer installed, but it is not required.

Q: Will my certificate reflect my exam score or number of attempts?

A: No, certificates will not reflect exam metrics.

Q: What is a 'passing grade' for the exam?

A: You will need to score an 80% or higher to pass the exam.

Q: Is the exam timed?

A: Yes, you'll have 2 hours to complete the exam. If you're still working when time runs
out your exam will be automatically submitted for grading.

Q: How many times can I take the exam:

A: You get 1 attempt every 7 days. You can retake the exam as many times as you need to
pass. To view when your next exam attempt is available, click on, "Take Exam" on the
Certification page and the date when you're eligible to retake the exam will be
displayed.

Q: If I skip a question during the exam, can I come back and re-visit it later?
A: Yes, you can return to questions that you'd like to re-visit as often as you'd like during
the exam. However, after you complete and submit your answers, no changes can be
made.

Q: What can I use as a reference during the exam?
A: You may use Alteryx, the Community, and the web. This test is "open book", but not
"open neighbor." View the Alteryx Certi ication Policies below for more details.

Q: Will I receive a breakdown of the questions I answered correctly and incorrectly

If you have additional after the exam?
A: Unfortunately, no. We do not distribute answers. You will receive a summary of your
questions about
score for each category. This information can help you study if you need to retake the

Q: When I retake the exam, will I see the same questions?
A: The questions in this exam come from a question bank. You may see some questions
that you'd seen previously, but you'll also see new questions.

Q: Can I pause the exam and resume it later?

A: No, the exam must be taken in one sitting.

Q: How long is my certi ication valid?

A: Certi ications expire two (2) years after the date the certi ication is earned. See the
Alteryx Certi ication Policies below for more information on recerti ication.

Q: How can I take the Expert exam?

A: The Expert exam is only offered at Inspire.

Q: What can I do to prepare for the exam?

A: The Core Certi ication Exam Prep Guide and Advanced Certi ication Exam Prep
Guide contain everything you need to know to prepare for and pass the exams,
including: exam details, what's covered on the exam, a curriculum with learning
resources, and a practice exam.

Q: Do you offer live training to prepare for the exams?

A: Yes, we have weekly live training sessions on a variety of topics, including Core and
Advanced exam preparation. You can watch the playback of the Core Certi ication Prep
Session and Advanced Certi ication Prep Session at anytime.

Q: How can I become Partner certi ied?

A: If you're an Alteryx Partner, you can access the Partner Technical Certi ication exam
on the Partner Community. If you don't have access to the Partner Community, email
[email protected] to request access. Make sure to provide your Alteryx
Community username to gain access!

CERTIFICATION POLICIES
Candidate Conduct Policy
To maintain the value of Alteryx Certifications, and ensure that only qualified
professionals are certified, candidates may not engage in conduct that compromises the
integrity, security, or confidentiality of certification exams. Examples of misconduct
include, but are not limited to, the following:
Cheating – using unauthorized materials to pass an exam (including third-party
and/or unauthorized publications of exam materials), providing or accepting
improper assistance, or violating exam rules.
Misuse of the exam – disseminating exam questions or copying, selling,
posting, distributing, reproducing, using, or disclosing exam content in any
form (digital, print, verbal) before, during, or after the exam. We encourage
colleagues to study and prepare for the exam together, but disclosing and
sharing exam questions and answers and/or providing assistance to others
during the exam is prohibited.
Misrepresentation – fraudulent impersonation, submission of work that is not
completely your own, or taking or allowing others to take an exam on your
behalf.
Altering or misrepresenting exam scores, falsifying or altering certificates to
misrepresent certification status, or representing yourself as certified after
your certification has expired.
Misconduct as determined by statistical analysis. We believe that certification
should be accessible to everyone, which is why we offer unproctored, online
exams. This exam environment bestows a certain level of trust on candidates.
Since misconduct cannot be detected during the exam, we use statistical
analysis of exam data to identify patterns indicative of fraud. Alteryx reserves
the right to revoke certification status, at our sole discretion, without providing
proof of misconduct.

Exam materials are the confidential materials of Alteryx. Any disclosure of Alteryx
certification exam content (questions, answers, images, workflows, data files, start files)
is prohibited. Violation of these policies may result in revocation of any existing
certifications and exclusion from participating in future Alteryx Certification exams or
programs.

Use of Logos and Credentials

Upon successful completion of certification requirements, Alteryx grants candidates
non-exclusive, non-transferable, personal right to use the earned certification credential
and logo on resumes, business cards, marketing collateral, letterhead, and websites.
Altering the logo or using the logo in any manner that devalues the Alteryx Certification
Program is prohibited.

Recertification Policy
