What I Need to Know

This module was designed and written with you in mind. It is here to help you
understand Cookery as one of the Exploratory Subjects in TLE. The scope of this
module permits it to be used in many different learning situations. The language
used recognizes the diverse vocabulary level of students. The lessons are arranged to
follow the standard sequence of the course.

This module discusses Cleaning and Sanitizing Materials, and Cleaning and
Sanitizing Utensils, Equipment and Kitchen Premises.

After going through this module, you are expected to:


1. give the abbreviations and equivalents of measurements;
2. convert systems of measurements; and
3. observe proper measurements in any task given diligently.

Different people may use the identical recipe for molded desserts. All their molded
desserts could turn out differently because of different measuring and mixing
techniques. The following section presents some important measuring equivalents,
tables, and conversions.

What I Have Learned

It is very important to familiarize the quick conversions for dry and liquid ingredients
using the appropriate tools is highly recommended. Tools for measuring dry
ingredients differ from those of the liquid ingredients. Using an inappropriate tool for
measuring both dry and liquid ingredients may cause deficiency.
