precautions are started and followed to avoid or minimize occurrences of fire and fire related injuries or
explosions;
5. Painting
- No smoking and other safety signs shall be installed in painting areas;
- Mechanical ventilation like industrial fans shall be provided in painting area; painting shall be prohibited
within 15-20 feet from open flames, sparks electric motors and ignition switches;
6. Excavation
- All excavations over one (1) meter deep shall be supported by adequate shoring and timbering/wood
planks to prevent collapse; Shoring and timbering in excavations more than 6 meters, and those installed
to prevent movement shall be designed by our structural engineer;
- All excavations more than 1-meter-deep shall be kept free from water at all times;
- Excavated materials shall be kept away from the edge of the excavation at a distance of not less than 1/3
of the depth of the excavation to prevent accidents;
- No vehicles or machinery shall be allowed to operate within a safety distance of at least 1/3 of the depth
of the excavation;
- The top of the walls of an excavation more than 2 meters deep shall be provided with barricades at least
1-meter-high to prevent workers from falling into the dig;
