Fluid Power - 2

1) A pump with 96% volumetric efficiency delivers 29 L/min at 1000 rpm. The displaced volume of the pump is 0.0302 L/rev. 2) A pump has 88% overall efficiency and 92% volumetric efficiency. Its mechanical efficiency is 95.6%. 3) A pump producing 60 L/min at 140 bar can produce 14 kW of hydraulic power. A 85% efficient motor to drive it would need to be 16.47 kW.

A hydraulic motor has 82 cm3 volumetric displacement. It has a pressure rating 70 bar and

Qth ( m) = Vd (m) N(m)

𝑄𝑡ℎ(𝑚)

The actual flow rate into the motor is the same flow rate out of the pump

Qa (P) = ηv(P) Qth(P) = 0.82 * 0.041= 0.03362 m3/min
