About the Technical Certification Program
The Mimecast Technical Certification program is an industry standard in excellence that will help validate
your level of skill and knowledge of specific Mimecast products and services. All certifications will certify you
to be a Mimecast Certified Product Professional in a specific product area. The program is designed to
enhance your professional credibility by providing quantifiable proof of skills and knowledge. The exams
focus on the practical application of knowledge of Mimecast solutions required by specific roles.

Email Security, Cloud Gateway Fundamentals


The purpose of this certification is to ensure those completing it:
• Understand the fundamentals of navigating and configuring the Mimecast Email Security, CG platform.
• Understand which policies are available to you by default, what they are used for and how they are
configured.
• Understand how to utilize the Mimecast platform to keep email flowing even when primary messaging
systems are unavailable using our Continuity services.
• Understand how to access account analytics, reporting, and how to configure service alerts
and notifications.

Certification Requirements
There are 60 questions, and you have 60 minutes to complete all the questions.

• You will have 2 attempts at this exam.


• You will be required to answer every question.
• You will not be able to submit the exam until all questions have been answered.
• You cannot save the test and resume it in another session.

You must achieve a minimum of 75% to successfully pass this exam. If you fail the exam the first time, you will
only have one more attempt before having a mandatory waiting period of 24 hours, at which time you can retest.

1. Do I have access to certifications?


Yes, all customers have access to certifications through Mimecast University.

2. Why should I become certified?


Exam takers benefit from completing the certification by being recognized as a Mimecast Certified Product
Professional. With each exam taken and passed, a certificate of competence will be issued, and they will join an
elite group of experts.

3. Is there an order in which to take the courses for the certification?


Yes. From the homepage, navigate to Explore Certifications Paths > Choose your certification path button to
see the available learning plans for certifications, you will see the courses displayed in the optimal order.

4. What happens when new standards are published? Do I have to be recertified?


Certifications are valid for two years. At the end of the two years, you will need to recertify. We will continue to
introduce new material as the products are enhanced.

5. Is there a charge to take a Certification Exam?


No, with a Mimecast University account, you have access to an abundance of training information,
assessments, and certifications.

6. How do I get my certificate of completion once I have passed the exam?


You can click on My Certifications and Retraining from the homepage to see the courses you have completed.
To download your certification, navigate to My Activities | Courses in the menu and find the exam, click on the
badge icon and you will be prompted to save as a PDF. To share to LinkedIn, see the How To: Share my
certification to LinkedIn
