1 Workspaces
Workspaces provide your monday account with a
hierarchy of organization to help you manage multiple
teams, projects, and departments in one, unified place.
When you first create a monday account, you'll find

a Workspace added by default called the "Main
Workspace". This workspace can be used to manage
and collaborate on all company-wide boards, since

all team members are in this workspace.

2 Boards
What is a board?

A board is where you do the work within
monday.com. A board can be anything you’d like

it to be - a project, a list, a process, team tasks,

request management, team meetings, etc. You can
also fully customize your board according to your
workflow. Adding a new board is as easy as clicking
the + Add button and selecting New Board.

You can learn more about the different types of

3 Groups
What is a roup?

g

A group is a color-coded section on your board that

contains your items (rows) and helps to categorize
and organize them in any way that you wish. When
creating a board, you then need to create your
groups. A group can represent anything from a
period of time, a specific steps of a project, a client,
or whatever you want!

4 Items and Subitems

Items

An item is an individual row (or line item) in a group.

Your monday boards are made up of groups

of items, and the content of an item is completely up

to you and will depend on what the board's plan is.
They can represent anything from a list of projects,

to weekly tasks, clients, locations, or anything else
depending on your workflow.

Subitems

Subitems provide your board with a deeper structure
by letting you add an extra layer of information within
the items on your board. Utilizing subitems will give
you the low-level detail that you're looking for when
breaking down your work for a more granular view.
