1. Explain Action Potential (AP) of a biomedical signal.


2. Explain ENG with diagram and also mention the standard ENG potentials

model for generation of EMG signals.
4. Write down the classification of EEG rhythms based on the frequency bands
5. What is VAG. Explain in detail.
6. Discuss the electric activity of the heart. What is the significance of the Einthoven’s triangle?
7. Briefly explain the difficulties in bio-medical signal acquisition.
8. With relevant diagrams explain standard and augmented limb leads. Derive an expression

MODULE- 2

1. Explain the cancellation of 60Hz interference in an ECG signal using adaptive filters.
2. With neat block diagram explain signal averager.
3. Prove that signal averaging improves SNR by a factor of √m where m is the number of
repetitions.
4. Explain the principles of Adaptive noise canceller with an example.
5. Given a biomedical signal, identify discrete signal epochs and correlate them with events
in the related physiological processes.
6. Propose an algorithm to detect QRS complexes in an ongoing ECG signal.
MODULE- 3

1. After applying the AZTEC algorithm to a signal, the saved data array is

{2, 50, -4, 30,-6, 50, -6, 30, -4, 50, 2, 50}.
(i) Draw the waveform that AZTEC would reconstruct from these data.
(ii) What is the amount of data reduction?
(iii) What is the peak-to-peak amplitude of a signal reconstructed from these data?

2. After applying the AZTEC algorithm the saved data array is [2, 0, -3, 80, -3, -30, -3, 0, 3, 0].
Draw the waveform that AZTEC would reconstruct from these data.

3. After application of the TP algorithm what data sequence could be saved if the data saved
by an ADC are [0 1 1 0 -1 10 20 40 50 20 -1 -30 -20 -10 0 1 0 0 1 -1]
4. Illustrate the Huffman code for the given sequence of 28 data points

spike-and-wave complex is available.
