Introduction to ArcGIS Pro
• ArcGIS Pro is a full-featured professional desktop GIS
updated application from Esri.
• ArcGIS Pro, is the main window of the software, where
users choose to create new maps projects or layouts,
open existing projects etc.., or use some of the
resources available.
• ArcGIS is capable of exploring, visualizing, and analyzing
data; creating 2D maps and 3D scenes; and sharing your
work to ArcGIS Online or your ArcGIS Enterprise portal.

Adding the spatial feature to the Map (ArcPro)
• With ArcGIS Pro, you can add data from
your own computer, local network, or
from a package. You can also add data
straight from your ArcGIS Online, etc..
• Like ArcMap, the most common way to
add data to a map is to use the + button.
• Or add data from the Catalog Pane by
clicking on the layer and adding to the
current map; and by dragging into the
map view or content pane
Attribute table
• Like ArcGIS Map, an attribute table which describes the spatial is opened
by right click and open (layer attribute table)
Layer Properties
• Most display properties, such as symbology and transparency, are set
on the ribbon, and others like General, Sources etc..are accessed the
same as ArcMap(right-click and open layer properties or double click
the layer)
Geoprocessing tools
• The primary locations where you can find and open geoprocessing
tools are the Analysis ribbon tab and the Geoprocessing pane.
