Evaluation Scheme:
The course will have three Evaluation Components (EC); two quizzes (EC-1a, EC-1b) and one
experimental learning assignment (EC-1c), a Mid-semester Examination (EC-2), and an End-semester
Examination (EC-3).
1. The two quizzes- EC-1a and EC-1b will have 25 multiple choice questions each. The student will
attempt the quiz on Elearn portal. The experimental learning assignment EC-1c will be based
upon some decision based theoretical/conceptual problem.
2. The Mid-semester examination will be a Closed Book examination. Books, reference material,
laptops, tablets, mobile phones etc, will not be permitted. Use of calculators will be permitted.
Probability distribution tables will be provided.
3. The End-semester examination will be an Open Book examination. Students can bring books,
printed/ written reference material (filed or bound) but they cannot exchange them. Loose sheets
of paper will not be permitted. Use of calculators will be permitted. Laptops, mobile phones,
tablets, etc., will not be permitted. Graph sheets or probability distribution tables will be
provided.
4. If a student is unable to appear for the Mid-semester or End-semester examination due to genuine
exigencies, the student would have to follow the procedure to apply for the Makeup examination
which will be made available on the Elearn portal. The Makeup examination will be conducted
only at selected examination centres on the dates to be announced later.
