Before starting the qualification exam we recommend that you log into the Learning Portal
where you’ll find the guidelines, learning material and practice questions for your qualification
exam. While the learning material is not mandatory, we strongly recommend that you complete
it before beginning the qualification exam.
Once you’re ready to start your qualification exam, log into TryRating using the email address
that you’ve provided. This will also be the same email address that you have received the
Welcome to qualification exam email to. To begin, click on Get A Survey. The Surveys are what
the qualification exam questions/tasks are called in TryRating.
Once you see “No More Surveys” you have completed the qualification exam.
This will trigger the password reset email. Please check your Inbox, including spam folders.

Your job once hired onto the program is to check these results and make them better for users.
You'll review them for accuracy, correctness, and relevance, based on what users searched for.
The qualification exam involves following a set of guidelines that tell you how to rate tasks.
These guidelines have all the information you need for the qualification exam.
The qualification exam questions have different levels of importance, so your scores add up as
you go through the qualification exam. Because of this, the qualification exam can be short with
10 questions or longer with up to 45 questions.
The learning material given to you will help you understand what's expected in the qualification
exam.
I can’t log into the Learning Portal. Can you help me?
The login details for the Learning Portal can be found in your welcome email. If you are having
issues logging in, please clear cache and cookies, and check if you have previously saved any
passwords for this website. If you continue to have issues logging in, please send us a
screenshot showing the error you are receiving.
The guidelines are long. How can I easily find the correct answer?
You can use "Control+F" (or "Command+F" on a Mac) to find keywords in a PDF document like
the guidelines.
Try it here! Press Ctrl+F (Command+F), type “answered” - This will show you where the word
appears in this document. The fourth result should bring you to “How will I know if I answered
all the questions?”
The qualification exam/learning materials are all in English and are based on the US. Can
I get them in my own language and based on my own locale?
The qualification exam is US based so please rate the queries from the perspective of a US
user. Once you successfully pass the qualification exam, you’ll receive tasks and Guidelines in
your own language and tasks will be rated in terms of your own locale.
Are there any practice questions before I start doing the real qualification exam?
We have Sample Questions that will help you understand the guidelines better available in the
Learning Material. You can complete these as often as you wish.
Unfortunately, we cannot extend the qualification exam deadline date. We recommend that you
start the qualification exam as soon as you can to avoid missing the deadline.
You will not score higher if you complete the qualification exam in a short amount of time. In fact
this can result in a fail. We value quality over speed when you are completing the qualification
exam. We encourage you to check your answers carefully before you submit them. A quicker
completion time indicates less time spent referring to the guidelines which results in less of an
understanding of the concepts presented in the guidelines.
Are the questions repeated? It seems like I have received the same question twice.
If you have submitted the questions properly, you will not get any repeated questions. There are
times where you may see the same question but you are asked to rate a different search result.
How will I know if I have passed the qualification exam?
Your result will be emailed to the Gmail you provided at T&Cs stage. This is the email address
that you have used to log into the qualification exam platform. You’ll receive a result within 7
days of completing the qualification exam.
You will know that you have fully completed the qualification exam when you receive the
message ‘no more surveys’.
Unfortunately we can’t provide individual feedback as this could affect the future participation
and fairness of results of other candidates applying for the role.
No, the qualification exam platform will not present tasks correctly on a phone or tablet. Please
ensure you are logged into the qualification exam platform using a Desktop PC or laptop only.
You can complete the research using your phone if you wish but the answers must be
submitted using the desktop/laptop.
The deadline date is provided in your qualification exam welcome email. The qualification exam
will expire at 23:59 (Pacific Time (PT) on the date provided in the email. Please convert it into

In order to get an accurate response, please provide as much details as possible along with
screenshots showing your full screen where possible. If the issue is within TryRating, please
include the Task ID where you can. This can be found at the top left of the screen when you are
answering a qualification exam question.
