I Don’t Recommend Installing This Version of Windows

The article warns against installing Tiny11, a modified version of Windows 11, due to significant security vulnerabilities from bypassing essential hardware requirements like TPM and Secure Boot. Tiny11 cannot receive official Windows updates, leaving systems exposed to threats and performance issues, and Microsoft does not provide support for it. The author suggests considering alternatives like debloating Windows or switching to a lightweight OS like Linux instead.

Windows 11

 SUMMARY

Bypassing Windows hardware requirements

like TPM and Secure Boot with Tiny11 can
make your system more vulnerable to security
threats.

Tiny11 cannot receive Windows updates,

leaving your system vulnerable to security
threats and performance issues.

Installing Tiny11 or any custom OS can brick

your PC, risking damage to important
components like the bootloader.

Tiny11 is a modi-ed version of Windows 11

that can run on almost any PC. It's lightweight
and helps you bypass the requirements of
Windows 11. But you probably shouldn't install
it.

Bypassing Windows
Hardware Requirements Is
a Bad Idea

Those Windows 11 hardware requirements

that Tiny11 aims to bypass exist for a reason.
They are not just there to ensure your system
can handle the operating system's demands
but to make the system more secure.

Since Tiny11 reduces the RAM and processor

requirements, you can expect it to run
eKciently without crashing if your computer
has enough resources. However, bypassing
hardware requirements like TPM (Trusted
Platform Module) and Secure Boot can be
extremely detrimental to your system.

Ad

TPM encrypts your data and stores it in a

dedicated chip for secure storage, which
protects your computer from certain hardware-
based attacks. Secure Boot prevents malware
from loading and ensures that only trusted
applications run when the PC boots up.

When these two work together, your computer

becomes much harder to exploit. Bypassing
them will make it more vulnerable.

No Windows Updates for

Tiny11

Ad

Tiny11 cannot receive updates through

Windows Update. Even if you tried, it would fail
the important checks that require it to have all
the minimum requirements and no modi-ed
system -les.

Without critical security patches, bug -xes, or

new features, your computer will be vulnerable
to various security threats and performance
issues.

Your only option to update is to go to where

you downloaded Tiny11, download an updated
version, and install it. However, it isn't
guaranteed that one will always be available as
soon as Microsoft updates Windows 11. This
could leave you without vital security updates
for days or weeks.

Microsoft Doesn’t Offer

Support for It
Since Tiny11 is an unoKcial mod that
circumvents the minimum requirements of
Windows 11, Microsoft does not provide any
technical support for it.

Not even the Microsoft Community can assist

you with any issues related to Tiny11. If you
encounter issues, you'll be on your own to
troubleshoot problems, and there's no
guarantee that the solution will be reliable or
stable.

Software Issues
Due to Tiny11's modi-cations, some software
might not work as expected. For instance, if an
app relies on speci-c Windows components or
security features that Tiny11 modi-ed, it might
fail to install or run properly.

Also, you cannot expect the developers to help,

since they most likely don't support Tiny11.

You Could Soft-Brick Your

PC
Ponomarenko Anastasia/Shutterstock

Although rare, installing Tiny11 or any other

custom OS can soft-brick your PC, making it
unbootable. These modi-ed operating
systems offer no guarantee that they will work
with your hardware.

Ad

Because of this, you risk damaging important

components like the bootloader when you
install them. Luckily, soft-bricking isn't
impossible to -x. However, it can be frustrating
to deal with.

You Can Always Debloat

Windows the Hard Way
If you are installing Tiny11 because you need a
lighter version of Windows, there are things
you can do to debloat your Windows
installation instead.

This includes removing bloatware and

performing a clean install. While this is a more
involved process and has varying results, it's
much better than risking the issues above.

Looking for a Lighter OS?

Try Linux

Alternatively, you can switch to an OS like

Linux, which is usually lighter, faster, and more
secure than Windows. I say "usually" because
this depends on your Linux distribution of
choice.

Furthermore, a vast majority of applications on

Linux are open source, meaning you might -nd
everything you need on that platform for free.

While installing Tiny11 has some bene-ts, you

cannot ignore the glaring issues it also brings.
You can install Tiny11 on an old PC if you're
curious or want to play around with it. But if it's
a machine you use for serious work or
contains sensitive data, I recommend staying
away.

I once put Puppy on a laptop that had 256 MB of RAM and

ran Windows 2000. It ran -ne, but, shall we say, leisurely.
All our PCs run Linux, mostly Mint. Most are retired Win 7
machines.

Brick your PC? Umm.. you might have to reload Windows

but this is not the same as bricking a device. However,
bypassing hardware requirements is never something I
generally recommend. There is a reason they are called
"requirements" not "recommended"

I still think I shouldn't upgrade my PC to Windows 11

from Windows 10 because I can't see any bene-ts
from Windows 11 so far, even though my PC is
compatible with 11.
By the way, I'm using 12400F, which has no e-core.

I installed Windows on two 'unsupported' systems, using

Tiny11 and also using the current oeine installer and
Rufus, and they have both updated without issue, up to
and including the latest 24H. Security updates, etc.
without problem. I suggest that any version of Windows
11 is going to be more secure than Windows 10. I suggest
the author actually try the solution out then report back.

you know nothing,, the hardware requirements for 11 have

to do with security not performance,, in fact windows 11
on 7th gen unsupported system runs faster than windows
10,

I predict all the Virus and malware issues will be

exactly the same as Windows 10. The problem is not
going to be -xed by TPM2, because the problem is in
the basic design of Windows.
