The aim of this book is to provide information about some of the agricultural products
of Indonesia that are provided for export market. Hopefully it will be a valuable
knowledge for readers to have knowledge about superior products of ornamental
foliage plants , coconut , and tea products originated from Indonesia .
This reading material comprises of general information on those commodities and its
products derivatives, the utilization of the products, export procedures, and the list of
stakeholders in charge with exportation of the products (attache, association , exporting
companies).
Our highly expectation that this book is usefull especially for entrepeneurs who are
dealing with tea , coconut, and foliage plant export, and general consumer in export

Goods controlled for export are due consideration to maintain the balance in
domestic supply so as not to interfere domestic consumption .
HOW TO EXPORT
The Procedure
Before exporting , there are some things should be prepared by the exporter, such as:
a. Administrative preparation, namely office equipment which includes riveting
and informative letter head, personal computers, fax machine and telephone ,
clear PO Box or address.
b. Legality preparation, such as business license (technical license, trading license
(SIUP), industrial license (lUI)), company registration certificate (TOP), tax
account number (NPWP), Specific exporter license.
c. Goods physical preparation , such as contract with the producer, promotional
tools (brochure I catalog I leaflet), price list, samples of goods and not less
important is product knowledge.
d. Operational preparation, such as export process, procedures and documents,
export/import policies I regulations, and export strategies.

Details:
1. Exporter and Importer make a correspondence , which ended with drafting Sales
Contract.
2. Importers apply for L I Cat the Opening Bank abroad .
3. Opening Bank sends LIC confirmation to Correspondent Bank abroad to notify the
exporter.
4. Correspondent Bank I Advising Bank notify the exporter by issuing LIC advice .
5. Exporter prepares goods.
6. Exporter reserves space on a vessel to a shipping company.
7. Exporter manages export formality, by filling in export declaration (PES) and paying
export duty, the export declaration is registered to be approved .
8. Loading the goods on board . The shipping company gives the exporter Bill(s) of
lading .
8a . In the case of the L/C stated to attach Certificate of Origin (SKA) , the
exporter should obtain the Certificate of Origin from the issuing agency.
9. After preparing all required documents as stated in the LIC, exporter negotiates
to Correspondent Bank to receive payment.
10. Shipping the L/C document from Correspondent Bank to the Opening Bank.
11. Opening bank forwards the documents to the importer.
12. Importer submits the document to shipping agent in exchange of delivery cargo .

Description:
The commodity owner (carrier) or the trustee submits commodity export report (for
plants, products of plant or other carrier medium) by filling out form KT-11 to the plant
quarantine officers and attaching the following documents:
• Export License from the Ministry of Agriculture I Forestry in the original sheet (for
exporting tobacco plant seeds, agave, abaca , coffee , oi l palm , cocoa , sugar cane ,
rubber, tea , cinchona , rauwolfia , cover crops , cloves , nutmeg , pepper, coconut ,
raffles , wild orchids , several species of forest plants).
For the purposes of data cross , the Plant Quarantine Officer also requires other
documents such as letters of Export Declaration (PEB), Shipping Instruction (SI), and
or Bill of Lading. Commodity export reports must be submitted no later than 1 (one)
day before the commodity is loaded into the container or in the case of bulk cargo
shipped. Nevertheless, it is recommended that the export report to be submitted a few
days longer before the commodity is loaded into a container or shipped to prevent
delays I cancellation of departure in case of necessary measure treatment for the
commodity to be exported (fumigation action may take 2 x 24 hours).
Counter officer shall record the export report in the agenda and continue to examine
for its completeness , truth and validity as required by the Plant Quarantine Office. If
the documents do not complete the requirements, the commodity owner or their trustee
must complete it in advance and to him will be given the Notice to Complete Plant
Quarantine Requirements Document (KT-15).
The export report will be further processed after the completion of required documents.
If the required documents cannot be completed within 14 days, then against the carrier
will be refused for the commodities to be exported and to the owners or the trustee
will be given a Letter of Rejection (KT-26). If the entire required documents have been
completed , the commodity to be exported is transferred to be checked on the physical
examination I health . To that end , the commodity owner or the trustee will be given a
Notice of Execution of Physical I Health Inspection I Sequestration and Observations
Measures (KT-16).
The appointed plant quarantine officer accompanied by the owner of the commodity
or the trustee will inspect the commodities to be exported. For the purpose of inspection,
the plant quarantine officer must be given the opportunity to see firsthand all commodities
to be exported and take samples of the commodities . Physical examination can be
performed in port of exit or outside the port of exit (in the designated warehouse I
depot I location upon the commodity owner or the trustee request) .
In the case of the commodities are infected by plant disturbing organism , they must
be inspected and to the owner or the trustee will be given Notice of Inspection
(KT-22).
If the commodities are free from plant disturbing organism , the commodities are
released and to the owner/carrier or their trustees were given Phytosanitary Certificate
(PC). PC will be issued after all data of the commodities to be exported are in accordance
with that stated in the Export Declaration , and the cargo manifest or Bill of Lad ing .
Commodities are free of pests , the commod ity is released and liberation of the
commodity carried and given to the owner or their proxies Phytosanitary Certificate
(PC). PC will be published after all data on the commodity to be exported in accordance
with that stated in the PEB , and the cargo manifest or Bill of Lading .
