Now what is the lesson of the story?

Very Good!

Now let’s move on to our new topic

Motivation Every day, you encounter situations that

require you to restate what another person

says. Now have you ever tried restating the

spoken words of a person and then changing

or adding it?

Now is it good or bad?

Okay, if we restate the spoken words of a

person we must not change nor add it. So

what subject can we relate this?

Very good

I have here a picture, I want you to read and

differentiate the difference and similarities.
What do you think is our topic for today?

Now let us discuss the text you’ve make.
Analysis
What have you observed from the text
that you’ve make? Students perform the activity
actively.
Our topic today is Direct and Indirect
speech. The speech both describe what other
people said.

Direct speech- repeats what was said.

-Is when we repeat the exact words spoken

by someone, usually enclosed in quotation
marks.

Example:

Andrew said, “I’m hungry”

Indirect speech- reports what was

said.

-(also known as reported speech) is when

we report what someone has said without
using their exact words. The words are
usually transformed, and sometimes the
tense is changed.

Example.
Students give their answers.
Andrew said, he was hungry.
He said, "I am going to the
Who can give an example? market."

He said that he was going to

the market

I have some questions.

Who can give the 2 ways to narrate the

spoken words of a person? Students raise their hands and
answer what they understand
Very good! And what is a direct speech? the topic.

A direct speech is repeating the

words spoken and quotes the
exact words Sir!

How about the indirect speech? An indirect speech is reporting

the words spoken and usually
used to talk about the past
What is their similarity?
They still share the same
information.
