Subject: Request for Administrative Withdrawal and Full Refund for Fall 2024 Courses

Dear Committee

I hope this message finds you in good health. I am writing to respectfully request an
administrative withdrawal with a full refund for the courses NUR 2310 and NUR 2310L, which I
enrolled in during the Fall 2024 semester.

While the semester began positively, unforeseen and distressing personal challenges soon arose,
leaving me unable to focus and keep up with my studies. Specifically, I experienced the
devastating loss of two family members who were cornerstones in both my personal and
academic life.

Dring the semester, my uncle, who was my primary educational sponsor and one of my greatest
sources if inspiration, passed away. His unwavering belief in my potential and his financial
support had been the foundation of my academic journey. Losing him created not only immense
emotional pain but also financial uncertainty. This left me feeling both lost and desperate. Before
I could even begin to process this loss, my grandfather, who had always been a pillar of strength
and guidance also passed away.

These back-to-back losses struck me deeply and left me struggling to cope. I was left with
immense responsibility to step up during this time of grief. Despite the emotional pain, I took on
the burden of helping to organize and manage both funerals. What is more, I was also supporting
my grieving family. These tasks were emotionally draining and required an incredible amount of
time and energy in such a manner that I didn’t have more to dedicate to my coursework.

On top of this emotional and familial responsibility, I face serious health challenges. I am
diabetic, and unfortunately, stress of these losses and responsibilities took a significant toll on
my body. My blood sugar levels became increasingly difficult to manage. This left me physically
and mentally exhausted. Despite my best efforts, I found myself unable to keep up with the
demands of my coursework while dealing with grief, stress, family obligations and health
complications.

I want to stress that I did everything I could to stay on top of my studies. However, the weight of
these circumstances was too much to bear. For someone like me, who takes education and
personal growth so seriously, this was incredibly difficult to accept. It is needless I note that I am
not someone who gives up easily, but this term was unlike anything I have ever faced before.

For these reasons, I kindly request your understanding and consideration in granting me an
administrative withdrawal with a 100% refund. This would allow me to retake these courses
under better circumstances and continue my education with the dedication and focus it deserves.

I have attached death certificates of my late Uncle and grandfather. Besides, if any additional
documentation or information is required, please let me know, and I will be happy to provide it.

I am grateful for your understanding, and I look forward to your response.

Sincerely,
Doroty Dumercy
