Security and Prerequisites – Extractor Client

• Connects to EBS/Legacy data secured as similar to


SQL Developer.
• No ports are opened on the on-premises system for
communication.
• All communication is via Fusion Web services which
is secured using SSL https 443.
• The DMF Client can use a proxy to access the Fusion
Instance optionally for additional security.
• No private SOAP/REST-based web services are
exposed.
• No existing J2EE container is required to deploy the
DMF Extractor Client.
• Data is persisted only till extraction, post extraction
it is deleted from the machine post zip. Prerequisites:
• Windows Laptop/Desktop which has access to EBS Database
• All files are encrypted and zipped. Post upload files
are deleted by Client tool • Recommended to have Min 4GB Memory Free.
• Machine should have access to Internet/Fusion Instance i.e should
be able to open the customer fusion instance over browser on the
same machine this tool has been installed.

DMF Extractor Client Tool - Overview

• Used to perform data extraction of EBS/Legacy data and push the extracted data to DMF Server for
further processing and migration.
• Standalone Light weight Java based tool can be installed on Windows Laptop/Desktop. (Similar to
SQL Developer)
• Can be used by consultant or customer to extract data
• Can connect to EBS over Customer VPN or can be installed on Customer remote desktop machine
which has access to EBS.
• Avoids manual task of running SQL in SQL Developer and eliminates transferring files over drives.
• Files are transferred via Customer Fusion UCM and encrypted.

Security and Prerequisites – Extractor Client

• Connects to EBS/Legacy data secured as similar to


SQL Developer.
• No ports are opened on the on-premises system for
communication.
• All communication is via Fusion Web services which
is secured using SSL https 443.
• The DMF Client can use a proxy to access the Fusion
Instance optionally for additional security.
• No private SOAP/REST-based web services are
exposed.
• No existing J2EE container is required to deploy the
DMF Extractor Client.
• Data is persisted only till extraction, post extraction
it is deleted from the machine post zip. Prerequisites:
• Windows Laptop/Desktop which has access to EBS Database
• All files are encrypted and zipped. Post upload files
are deleted by Client tool • Recommended to have Min 4GB Memory Free.
• Machine should have access to Internet/Fusion Instance i.e should
be able to open the customer fusion instance over browser on the
same machine this tool has been installed.
