Client V1.6.x (or higher)
The minimum recommended specification for a personal computer (PC) for installing any FM²P®.net
applications is:
Processor Core i3 (or higher)
Memory RAM 4GB
Hard drive space 50 GB
2.4 PREREQUISITES
All prerequisites required for installing the software are included on the installation disk and will be installed
where required.
It is assumed that the steps in the ‘FM²P®.net Server Installation Manual have been implemented prior to
installation of the FM²P.net Client software.
If a version of FM²P®.net Client which is lower than V1.4.0 this must be uninstalled prior to installing the new
version. If upgrading from Version 1.4.0 or higher update when prompted by the installer.
The file “Setup.exe” should be run as an Administrator with “Elevated Privileges” by right-clicking and
selecting the “Run As administrator” options.
After accepting the licence agreement, the opportunity to change the location where the software is to be
installed will be provided. It is recommended to accept the default location.
The information required is the computer name (FQDN) for the PC on which the FM2P®.net Server has been
configured as well as the port used for this connection.
The default port 8088 is displayed but this may be different depending on infrastructure and will be different
for each service being connected.
If required, the full path and file name of the company logo can be entered here. This image will be
included for use in all built-in reports for all licensed applications.
NOTE:
The size and position of the logo cannot be edited.
3.6 INSTALL
The FM²P®.net Client application is ready to be installed and will continue to completion without further user
input.
Checking the ‘Show the Windows Installer log’ option, this file will be opened in the default text editor (in
this case Notepad) and there will be a prompt to name and Save this file.
NOTES:
For on-going support, the KELTON® Support team may request this file. KELTON® recommends that this
file is saved in ‘My Documents’.
When the first Client connects to a new FM²P®.net server, the following steps are required to licence the
server.
After installation, a Licence Request File (License Request.txt) must be generated and then emailed to
[email protected] for configuration.
The FM2P®.net Client software contains a License Management utility which is accessed under the
FM²P®.net icon on the Main Window after a successful login to the system.
As shown above, send this file to [email protected] along with the name of the licenced user. Upon
receipt of this information a license file will be created and issued by email.
When the licence file is received, save it to any location on the PC or network. Click the import button to
browse to the same location and select the licence file. After this there will be a prompt to re-start, this
refers to the FM²P®.net Client application and not the PC.
Upon restarting, the Title Bar of FM2P®.net will display details of the imported license.
NOTES:
If due to security settings this import process does not work, manually copy the licence file into the
following location on the PC where the server is running: C:\ProgramData\Kelton Engineering Ltd\Kelton
FM2P®.net
Delete any *.lic files that are already in this location.
To create a new shortcut pointing to an additional server, copy the original shortcut and edit the properties
adding serveruri=http://<server>:<portnumber>/
Where <server> is the name or IP address of the machine where the FM²P®.net server is running and
<portnumber> is the number of the port.
NOTE:
The use of a PC IP Address is not recommended as on most networks this will change over time if DHCP
is in use to manage IP Address leases.
