POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Purpose
Key Responsibilities
Strategic
• Responsible for designing and developing strategy for building process excellence
initiatives through leading best practice frameworks and tools not limited to lean, six
sigma, agile, digital etc that will enable processes to be simpler, better and faster.
• Design and develop the PI Operating system for PEX (Process excellence) based ways of
working across business functions. Drive the movement of the function up the PEX
maturity model.
• Identify current and future PEX targets and goals using quantifiable data.
• Study and benchmark world class processes and systems through active
involvement/participation in literature reviews/conferences/SME discussions and
support, and other forms of online/offline mediums to create a vision for continuous
improvement across business functions.
• Represent the organization in external forums/conferences around continuous
improvement/process excellence for benchmarking/knowledge dissemination and PI
branding.
Operational
• Provide line management, coordination, drive, teaching coaching of the PI office functions.
• Proactively engage PI functional leaders, including senior business leadership to promote
process excellence and manage demand/capacity for their services accordingly.
• Leads teams in performing diagnoses and selecting the most appropriate tool for
determining root cause.
• Own and drive PEX team strategy, process and development (including team balance score
card KPIs and SLA) in line with PI strategy and principles.
• Regularly update management on current and upcoming gaps in process initiatives.

PI Internal
• Identify Big Y projects and programs and implement PEX methodologies to deliver on
such projects.
Reporting
• Design and develop a “PEX Dashboard” to understand key process attributes across
business functions. Communicate improvement trends and present current and future
opportunities for greater process efficiencies.
Others
• Ensure compliance with statutory & organization policies including safety, health,
environment & audit, for all process excellence initiatives.
• Ensure resolution of all escalated issues in the Process Excellence Department.
Financial
Ensure efficient and effective budget spends for Process Excellence functions.
People
• Review staffing requirements for the process excellence function with HR and ensure
staffing as per plan.
• Ensure rigorous identification of training needs for the Process excellence team, and
execution as per plan, in collaboration with HR.
• Review and ensure adherence to initiatives identified for career development of team
members (for example, individual development plan, cross functional exposure, job
rotation)
