Dream Travel

Different people enjoy different kinds of holidays. I love trying different international food, but I don’t
travel abroad to eat it. I usually spend my holidays in my home country. 1___ I don’t mind travelling by
train across the country though, or spending money on interesting activities. I’m not keen on sunbathing
because I think it’s boring, so I don’t go to the beach. 2___ So what do I like doing? Well, I’m an outdoor
person who loves doing adventurous things such as bungee jumping.
My friend Ajay isn’t keen on theme parks, but he’d love to go on a road trip across the USA. He’d visit
different cities along the way and stop at American diners. He’d avoid too much fast food because he’s
quite a healthy person. His other dream holiday would be in Kenya. He wouldn’t travel about on this
holiday, though. 3___ He thinks it would be nice to go with a group so he could share the experience. He’d
take pictures, but he wouldn’t post them online, or write a blog because he prefers to avoid the internet.
My friend Yasemin loves independent travel so a group tour would be a terrible experience for her. She
likes walking around cities on her own and discovering places that not many other people go to. She
doesn’t need to stay in a luxury hotel, either. 4___ That’s because she thinks you can meet interesting
people like that. She tries to eat cheaply, but she does love going to local restaurants. She also thinks it’s a
good idea to travel light, so she doesn’t usually buy anything from gift shops. She likes taking lots of
photos, too.
