Symptom

You would like to migrate the database from a single host system to a mulltiple host system.
You are performing a scale-up to scale-out (1:N) or a scale-out extension (N:M).

Environment

SAP Hana Database 1.0

Reproducing the Issue

This document is on how to restore from single node to multiple node

Resolution

Prerequisite:

1. There is a target system with the same release version or higher than the source system.
2. The number of services/volumes for both source and target systems are the same.
3. The target system has sufficient disk space and memory.
4. You have a license key file available for the target database because the license key of the source
system will not work in the target system. If you already have a license for the target system, you can
simply import your existing license for that system.
5. You have the logon credentials of the operating system user (<sid>adm).

The steps:

1. Stop the target system.

2. Move or delete available data backups and log backups from the target system.
3. Create a single host instance for the target system by recovering an existing data backup or storage
snapshot.
4. Perform the single host to single host system copy.
5. Add additional hosts to the target system after the recovery.

Note: When the recovery has successfully completed, the system is started. If you use the SAP HANA secure
user store (hdbuserstore) for connecting to the database, you need to update the account information in the
secure user store to match the accounts in the copied database. it is recommended to keep the old backups
available, at least until a new backup has been created.
