drives) serving as long-term storage.
More recent research has focused on optimizing memory hierarchy for modern computing,
particularly in multi-core processors, where shared memory models and non-uniform
memory access (NUMA) architectures are becoming increasingly prevalent. Studies have
also explored advancements in solid-state drives (SSDs), and emerging technologies such as
3D memory and phase-change memory (PCM), which promise to further revolutionize
memory systems.
2. **Cache Memory:**
Cache memory serves as an intermediate buffer between the CPU and the main memory. It
stores frequently accessed data to reduce the time the CPU spends retrieving data from
slower memory levels. Modern systems employ multi-level caching, with L1 cache being the
