Introduction to NetSuite MRP

 Intro to Netsuites MRP - NetSuite Material Requirements Planning, or MRP, provides visibility into the inventory
required to meet demand, helping your business optimize stock levels and fine-tune production schedules. NetSuite

WORKING OF SOFTWARE

To search for an item the name of the item is typed in the search option and later all the inventory related
configurations are opened. Also the form is opened in the EDIT mode wherein the detailed information for
the inventory is available.
WORKING OF SOFTWARE
There are certain tabs or options available in the software .They are as follows:

 there is an option of SHIPMENT FLAG which enables the system to create an automatic
purchase order for that item if that particular item has been ordered consistently from the same
vendor. And that vendor will be directly shipping that item to the customer instead of coming
it to the organization.

 The SPECIAL ORDER ITEM FLAG enables it to be done in just-in- time format in which
every sales order for this item will automatically create purchase order for this item to the
vendor but the vendor will ship all the items to the organization where the organization has to
accept it and ship it forward to its customer

 Further the form also has other inventory set up details out of which one the important factors
to be considered is the replenishment method which can either be by reorder point or time
phased.
WORKING OF SOFTWARE
PURCHASE
1) As soon as the inventory is entered in the warehouse/godown it is recorded in the ERP system. On
the basis of a proforma invoice which is provided from the supplier, the purchase order is generated
in the system. The purchase order contains the entire detailed invoice of the product number,
name,prices,supplier details etc.
2) At the same time the inventory management is done by keeping a check on the goods sold or
received in the inventory.
3) According to the collection period the amounts are provided by the purchaser.
4) Further if there are any repairs or services attached to the products, the system allows you to add the
same.
5) After the successful completion of the purchase order, receipt will be generated that can be presented
to the accounts team.
Sales
1) As soon as the inventory is sold from the warehouse/godown it is recorded in the ERP system.
2) On the basis of a sales invoice which is provided from the supplier, the purchase order is generated in
the system.
3) The sales order contains the entire detailed invoice of the product number, name, prices, supplier
details etc.
4) At the same time the inventory management is done by keeping a check on the goods sold or received
in the inventory.
5) According to the collection period the amounts are provided by the purchaser.
6) After the successful completion of the sales order, receipt will be generated that can be presented to
the accounts team.
What-if Scenario Planning

 With scenario planning, businesses can mock up multiple scenarios and answer critical questions: Is it possible to
speed up delivery by, for example, changing where goods ship from? What about when they ship? With NetSuite
MRP, set supply planning criteria, including items, locations and the planning horizon, and define rules at the plan vs.
the item level. This allows businesses to build multiple hypothetical plans and run what-if scenarios to understand
how changes will affect inventory levels and their ability to meet demand.
APPLICATION OF SOFTWARE

 Warehouse Management System (WMS): NetSuite WMS builds on the system’s

inventory management capabilities, adding functionality for put away, order picking,
barcode scanning and returns authorization.
 Manufacturing: NetSuite Manufacturing is built for companies that make or assemble
products. The module helps with production planning and scheduling, shop-floor
management and monitoring production to reveal insights and improvement opportunities.
It ensures you have all the right supplies and parts in the right place at the right time and
allows managers to build, release and track work orders.
 Demand Planning: NetSuite Demand Planning can help plan future demand for the
products and services you offer based on historical data, existing opportunities or imported
sales forecasts.
 Procurement: NetSuite Procurement can improve the complete procure-to-pay process to
save businesses time and money. Customers can keep a list of approved vendors, collect
quotes and automate purchase orders while granularly monitoring performance and spend
and enabling vendor self-service and expediting payments.
