PRESENTATION

OF RESEARCH
PROJECT
(Quarter 4)
Objective

■ Identify the different ways

of presenting a research
project
What is a Research
Presentation?
■ It is a visual representation of an
individual’s or organization’s
systematic investigation of a subject.
■ It helps the presenter obtain feedback
on their proposed research.
Purpose of Research Presentation

■ Explain the significance of the research

■ Clearly state the findings and the method of
analysis
■ Get valuable feedback from others in the
community to strengthen the research
■ Make the audience learn more about the
work or read the research paper
How to Prepare a Research
Presentation?
1. Decide on the presentation’s purpose
2. Know your audience
3. Create a research presentation outline
4. Limit the text on your slides
5. Explain your research
6. Follow presentation design best practices
Few ways to limit the amount of
text on the slides
■ Use only crucial text on the slides
■ Split up the content into multiple
slides
■ Put key message into the heading
■ Visualize data instead of writing
them
Presentation of Research
Project
1.Visual Display
2.Oral presentation/
Research Congress
1.) Visual Display
■Research paper (using the
IMRAD Format)
■Powerpoint presentation
■Display board
2.) Oral Presentation

■Conducted during the

annual Research Congress
VISUAL DISPLAY
Research Paper
■ It is a type of academic writing that
provides an in-depth analysis, evaluation,
or interpretation of a single topic, based on
empirical evidence.
■ It is similar to analytical essays, except that
research papers emphasize the use of
statistical data and pre-existing research.
Research Paper

■ Research papers are a bedrock of modern

science and the most affective way to share
information across a wide network.
Powerpoint Presentation
■ Powerpoint (PPT) is a powerful, easy-to-use
presentation graphics software program that
allows you to create professional-looking electronic
slide shows.
■ It is also a combination of various slides depicting
a graphical and visual interpretation of data, to
present information in a more creative and
interactive manner.
Best Practices in Designing your
Presentation

■ Create a stunning background

■ Use a variety of layouts
■ Use colors wisely
■ Use fonts hierarchy
■ Include high resolution images
Format on how to make a powerpoint
presentation from a research paper
■ Introduction/Background of the Study (1-2 slides)
■ Statements of the Problem (1 slide)
■ Literature Review/ RRL (1 slide)
■ Definition of Terms (optional) (1-2 slides)
■ Methodology/Research Design (1 slide)
■ Data Presentation (3-5 slides)

Do’s and Don’ts in Creating an
Effective PPT Presentation
DOs:
■ Be brief and concise.
■ Focus on the subject.
■ Attract attention, indicate interesting details.
■ If possible, use relevant visual illustrations.
■ Use bullet points or numbers to structure the text.
■ Make clear statements about the essence/results of the
research.
Do’s and Don’ts in Creating an
Effective PPT Presentation
DON’Ts:
■ Don’t write down the whole outline of your paper and
nothing else.
■ Don’t write long full sentences on the slides.
■ Don’t use distracting colors, patterns, pictures,
decorations on the slides.
■ Don’t use too complicated charts, graphs; only those that
are relatively easy to understand.
Display Board
■ The display poster board is an important tool
for the presentation of the research.
■ This is to present the main areas and
conclusions of your project so that others can
easily understand what you accomplished.
■ Display board is not the same with your
written report/research paper.
Main Areas of the Display
Poster Board
■ Title
■ Abstract
■ Introduction
■ Statement of the Problem
■ Hypothesis
Main Areas of the Display
Poster Board
■ Procedures (Usually presented thru
Research Design)
■ Results
■ Data and Graphics
■ Conclusions
■ Recommendations
How to Create a Great Display
Board?
1. Understand the goal
2. Plan your board
3. Follow the right size of the board based
on the given instruction
4. Choose a great title
5. Know your font sizes
How to Create a Great Display
Board?
6. Pictures can be powerful
7. Show your data
8. Make a list of elements you need to
type up or photos you need to print out
9. Use quality materials
10. Don’t wait until the last minute
ORAL
PRESENTATION
Oral Presentation
■ It is a formal, research-based presentation of your
research study.
■ It is meant to showcase your research findings.
■ A successful oral presentation should: (1) communicate
the importance of your research; (2) clearly state your
findings and the analysis of those findings; and (3)
prompt discussion between the researcher and
audience.
How to have a good oral presentation in
research?
■ Be well prepared; write a detailed outline.
■ Introduce the subject.
■ Talk about the sources and the methods.
■ Indicate if there are conflicting views about the
subject (conflicting views trigger discussion).
■ Make a statement about your results
■ Use visual aids or handouts if appropriate.
