Auburn University responds after accidental alerts

The Auburn community received multiple safety alerts including a tornado, an active shooter, and other potential threats.

AUBURN, Ala. (WSFA) - Auburn University is clearing the air after several mobile alert warnings were falsely sent out to faculty and students Thursday morning.

The Auburn community received multiple safety alerts. They included warning of a tornado, an active shooter, and other potential safety threats.

The university has since announced that those alerts were sent in error and the school’s campus is not currently under any threat.
