Former Institute President, Wilma Harper MBE FICFor CEnv, has been selected as new Chair of Scotland’s Finest Woods to champion people, passion, innovation and success. Wilma has taken over from Guy Watt FICFor who was Chair for three years.

A project led by the Royal Forestry Society has brought together nine organisations, including the Institute, to tackle the growing issues surrounding mental health in forestry with an aim of providing useful tools to help prevent and alleviate problems.

At our Centenary National Conference 2025 in Edinburgh, the Institute’s Executive Director and President presented Professor Julian Evans OBE FICFor and Dr Helen McKay OBE FICFor CEnv with The Institute’s Medal, and Ben Gunneberg MICFor with The President’s Award.
