Rosetta Stone for Schools’ group tutoring sessions allows students to improve their conversational skills in an immersive environment with a native speaker. Students practice speaking, listening, and comprehension through interactive and engaging activities. Each session is aligned to one of Rosetta Stone’s core lessons, offering the perfect opportunity for learners to put what they’ve just learned into practice. Prepare your students to make the most of their tutoring sessions with these tips.

General recommendations
These helpful tips will help your students get the most out of their tutoring sessions.
- We find that learners who imagine themselves in an immersive setting find it easier to maintain immersion (ie, only speaking their target language) during tutoring sessions. The tutor may also provide role-play scenarios during the session. Approaching sessions in this manner helps students practice real world scenarios in a fun and positive setting. You can help students prepare scenarios ahead of their tutoring session.
- When possible, pair students with the same tutor for multiple sessions. This will help develop a rapport as well as a comfortable learning environment as they become familiar with each other over multiple sessions. You can easily filter by specific tutors on the scheduling page.
- We encourage feedback and communication between tutors, teachers, and students to provide the best experience for all learners. Please remind students that expectations for the classroom extend to tutoring sessions. Through the Rosetta Stone Client Manager, tutors may submit feedback to the school regarding sessions.

Preparing for a session
Make sure students and their technology are set up for success.
- Please confirm that students have completed the two Core Lessons associated with the session before attending.
- Complete a check of students’ devices:
- Each student is on their own device
- Device is connected to high-speed Internet
- USB headset is working
- Please make sure it is quiet in the classroom and other students are not interrupting. Remind learners to be respectful to tutors and other learners in class.
What to expect during a session
Here’s how a tutoring session is normally conducted.
- The goal is to speak only the target language during tutoring sessions.
- The tutor will ask questions about pictures on the screen. Each learner will have time to answer and ask questions to each other.
- Remind students that it is okay to be unsure of answers. The tutor will help them, in the target language.
