Request for Review and Assistance on Draft:Charles Odii (DG SMEDAN)
[edit]Dear Curbon7, I hope you’re doing well. I have recently submitted Draft:Charles Odii (DG SMEDAN) for review and would appreciate your assistance in reviewing and improving it. Charles Odii currently serves as the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Small Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in October 2023. If you have time, I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or edits to ensure the article meets Wikipedia’s standards. If you think removing the bracketed “DG SMEDAN” from the title would be more appropriate, please feel free to do so. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Charles_Odii_(DG_SMEDAN) Thank you for your time and expertise. Looking forward to your feedback. Imaaaaam (talk) 10:15, 3 February 2025 (UTC)

Comment
[edit]Just want to draw your attention to a comment I made on the RfA talk page. Not sure if you were aware or not, and not trying to change your vote (especially as we're in the same place), but I think perspective on this might not be so typical. Regards, Goldsztajn (talk) 08:01, 11 April 2025 (UTC)
- Goldsztajn, Thank you for noting that. I was going to lighten my wording anyways as I felt it was a bit too harsh for the circumstances. You may or may not know that I was preparing to launch an RfA a couple years ago; I ended up not launching at the 11th hour for a number of reasons (life got hectic, diminishing interest in non-content areas of the website, etc.), but one thing I remember was spending a lot of time perfecting Q2, so it just floored me when I saw the current nomination and I gut-reacted without really re-reading my wording more carefully. RFA can be a rough gauntlet to go through (I remember MB's RFA being so brutal they quit Wikipedia), so I wouldn't want to make an already negative process even more negative. Curbon7 (talk) 08:24, 11 April 2025 (UTC)
- I think in this instance there's been a cascading effect of someone who's found a niche where they can hyperfocus, receive a lot of positive feedback and a group of very well meaning people not quite understanding the effect of their interactions. (Not for a minute claiming I have would behaved any different if I was one them). I'm just concerned for the editor. Regards, Goldsztajn (talk) 08:35, 11 April 2025 (UTC)
- And if you ever rethink taking the mop, let me know, would be very pleased to be a nominee. (and no, didn't know you were considering earlier ... and yes, MB's was possibly the worst I've ever witnessed). Regards, Goldsztajn (talk) 08:37, 11 April 2025 (UTC)

Articles for Creation backlog drive
[edit]
Hello Curbon7:
WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in June!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 1 month of outstanding reviews from the current 3+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 June 2025 through 30 June 2025.
You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.
Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 3200 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:25, 20 May 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Wikipedia is not a place for name calling. See WP:CIVIL. Thank you. Legend of 14 (talk) 19:24, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
- Nominating dead userspace pages at WP:MFD is ragpicking; it is a waste of time for you and everyone else. If it means so much that Category:Stale userspace drafts is clear, then either remove the template or courtesy blank the page (as you did). Or alternatively - and this is my personal recommendation - find something more productive to do on here; as someone who does do WP:GNOME-ish edits from time-to-time, I do not see how this is a useful use of time. Curbon7 (talk) 19:30, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
- It is absolutely unacceptable to call editors by insults just because they don't follow an essay you like. Legend of 14 (talk) 19:35, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
- Also I did blank one of the pages before nomination: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Magnatyrannus/Promylophis&oldid=1292385493. It got reverted. (The other 2 that are still open I tried speedy deletion first). It is up to you how you spend your time, no one is forcing you to participate on MfD discussions, especially those that aren't about your user pages. Legend of 14 (talk) 19:37, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
- Context for posterity. I most certainly did not intend to call you an insult, and sorry if you interpreted it that way. wikt:Ragpicking seems like a harsh word, but all it means is to wikt:scavenge through refuse or abandoned material. Scrounging through userspace nominating useless userpages for deletion rather than simply removing the draft template - or better yet, ignoring it altogether - fits that definition. Curbon7 (talk) 19:53, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
