Disclaimer - These are vocabulary that I found helpful in learning the Tagalog language,
these are no way the absolute vocabulary you should learn first. You can use the lines
underneath the vocab for practice. Bold is how to write the word and Italic is how to
pronounce.

Mga ( Ma-nga ) - Plural noun maker

Ako ( A-ko ) - I

Tayo ( Ta - yo ) - we ( inclusive )

Kami ( Ka - mi ) - we ( exclusive )

Sila ( Si - la ) - They/ Them


Siya ( Si - ya ) - He / She/ him/ her/ it/ herself

Ito ( It - to ) - This

Iyan ( I - yan ) - That

Iyon ( I - yon ) - That ( Further than “ Iyan “ )

Ko ( ko ) - my/ mine/ me

Mo ( mo ) - You/ Your/ thy


Niya ( Ni - ya ) - Her / His

Natin ( Na - tin ) - Our ( inclusive )

Namin ( Na - min ) - Our ( exclusive )

Ninyo ( Nin - yo ) - you/ your

Nila ( Ni - la ) - Their/ they/ them


Ni ( N- e- i ) - Of ( used before personal names )

Si ( S - i ) - Name of persons and animals

Kay ( k - ie - y ) - To ( used before personal names )

Pa (P-a) - Still / not yet

Lang ( L-a-n-g ) - only

Ang ( A-n-g ) - The subject marker


Ng (N - ug ) - Of

Naman ( Na - man ) - Softens / emphasizes the tone

Ba ( Ba ) - question maker

Nga ( N - a) - Emphases the tone

Kain ( Ka - in ) - eat

Ano ( A - no ) - What
Nasan ( Na - san ) - Where

Opo ( O - po ) - yes ( polite )

Po ( po ) - Makes more polite

Teka ( Te - ka ) - wait

Ulit ( U - lit ) - again

Daw / Raw ( D - ow ) / ( R- ow ) - Their person

Araw ( A- row ) - Day


Ngayon ( Nag - yon ) - Now

Mamaya ( Mama - ya ) - Later

Bakas ( Bo - kas ) - Tomorrow

Oras ( o - ras ) - Time

Sandali ( san - da - li ) - Short time

Matagal ( Ma - ta - gal ) __- Long time
