Ocean Dynamics

Theoretical, Computational and Observational Oceanography

Publishing model:

Aims and scope

Ocean Dynamics is an international journal that aims to publish high-quality peer-reviewed articles in the following areas of research:

  • Theoretical oceanography, including new theories in ocean dynamics and ocean processes, waves, tides, turbulent mixing, and ocean and coastal circulation.
  • Computational oceanography, including all aspects of numerical ocean modeling, data analysis, data assimilation, and operational ocean forecast systems.
  • Observational oceanography, including new techniques and approaches in measuring oceanic variables, remote sensing, in-situ instruments, and gliders.
  • Interdisciplinary oceanography, including physical-biogeochemistry interactions, land-sea-ice-waves-atmosphere coupling, and all aspects of climate change and its impacts.
  • Topical collections on a particular ocean-related topic or geographical region, especially for papers from international meetings. Please contact the Editor-in-Chief for details.
