Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the number of the signal pins used per information bit and thus to realize a highly efficient reduction of the volume by carrying out a time-division process for both writing and reading of the write and read data each via common signal line. CONSTITUTION:For semiconductor memory element installing circuit plate 2, 18 units of semiconductor element 3 of 16KwX1b are arranged to the step of Y1 as well as to the step of Y2. However, for each memory element 3 of the steps of Y1 and Y2, the data writing and reading is carried out in a time-division way via the common signal line in terms of the corresponding bit positions in each element 3 like bit position 31 and 32 and the like. Thus, only one pair of the signal pins will suffice. In other words, the number of the signal pin used for the data writing and reading can be reduce down to 1/2 the conventional number although the array of the memory elements is identical to the conventional one. As a result, element 3 can be mounted on plate 2 in more number of the bits equivalent to the number of the signal pins.
