I have initiated a request for namespace translations for the remaining wikis. In the process, I learned that some of these wikis are not very active on Translatewiki.net or their respective language wikis. Some of the translators were last active 1-5 years ago. For at least two of them, I couldn't find an active translator to reach out to. I have initiated the request, but I am less optimistic that we will hear back from them and more convinced that there was a reason why the core namespace translations were initially missing from the MessagesXX.php file.

@ToluAyo and I met with the community last week and oriented them to Translatewiki.net so they can look up translations for existing words and recommend them for core namespace translations instead of creating new ones: https://ff.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Adamu_mc#Feedback_2. They shared concerns about the variation of some Fulfulde words between the Nigerian Fula dialect and those of Gambia or Burkina Faso. They plan to collaborate with a contributor from Gambia on this soon.

@Nemoralis PR has now been merged! You can now update jquery.uls with the new language data from upstream and remember to include this task number T394873 in Bug: in the commit message.

@Bennylin This change has been deployed. Feel free to reopen the task if you are not satisfied with the outcome.

@Lydia_Pintscher I checked with team. If someone from the Wikidata team can make a patch and ensure they include a link to autonym source in the description, we can help with code review and merging.

@matej_suchanek Thanks for the neat idea! I was able to use your query in Quarry tool to generate items with label kr:

Iterated through 30,000 items so far, of which close to 30 have been skipped and fewer than 150 items have been deleted. Responding to some queries and reverted edits from admins:

Also improving the bot script to support logging of skipped data items in wikitext and CSV formats for better manual handling later:

@Bennylin Although the new updates will take some time to appear in the ULS, do you think the proposed changes will help solve part of the problem, which is to display all three Javanese keyboards for both the Latin and Javanese script options?
