Stupid toy company, spoiling the big reveal in season 3. Well, don’t look if you don’t want to, but this is kind of the point of thread:
Twilight Sparkle becomes a princess, and earns her wings. Yea, it was obvious in hindsight, we have the sun, and the moon, but no stars, right? And twilight sparkle - obvious, really. And sure, every girl wants friends and to be a princess, so, you know, it’s really just playing to the audience.
What gets me, though, is that this justifies all the stupid MLP:FIM fan fiction where the main character is super awesome in every way and has all the abilities of the best ponies out there. I expect Mary Sue from fans, but from the show itself? It gained the adult audience it did not just for humor, but for some small amount of intelligence, and dropping references that would only be understood by adults. This is boneheaded, and talk about unrealistic!
Anyway, MLP:FIM has jumped the shark, and I’m going back to my Pound Puppy VHS collection. They should really get around to releasing them on bluray, but if they did they’d probably ruin it too.

Meh. It’s a kid’s show, and I’ll still watch it from time to time. It’s never been compelling enough for me to make it a priority, but it’s a far sight better entertainment to sit through with my kiddles than Blue’s Clues and Barney.
