    Open Letter to Cardinal Fans:

In case you missed the Skidmore game or did not listen to Behind the Bench, the team has released an open letter to all of those in Cardinal Nation.

    Time for Change is NOW:

The tennis ball era is coming to an end. The college is VERY serious about putting a stop to what was once a fun tradition. Extra law enforcement officials will be brought in for this game. If anyone is caught throwing anything, they will be ejected from the game. I am told that tear gas may also be an option if large groups of people decide to throw tennis balls. The school originally wanted to use flamethrowers, but were unable to get permits in time for the game this Friday.

In all seriousness, the tennis ball throwing needs to go away. Oswego has done a great job stopping the bagels. There is NO reason we Cardinal fans cant do the same. If they can pull this off and we cant, what does it say about our fans?

This past Monday, Coach Emery told Ducky on Behind the Bench that extra security WILL be on hand. Fans could be searched. The school is also looking into the legality of having individuals arrested for disorderly conduct if they are caught throwing objects.

The College cant do this alone. They are going to need YOUR help. If you see someone with a tennis ball before the game or during the game, let security know about it. I know you may not want to be a snitch or rat, but do you really want those idiots with the tennis ball cost your team a chance to host the SUNYAC championship game? Or even a NCAA game?

So do the team a favor and spread the word. No more tennis balls. New Traditions

In the letter, the team mentioned starting new traditions like wearing all red or anything with Plattsburgh or Cardinal Hockey on it. Oswego has a White Out and wear Puck Flattsburgh shirts.

Blood Bath at the Staff? Red and White Night that was used last season for the Middlebury game, that could be brought back in future season.

What are your thoughts on starting a new tradition? If you have an idea you want to share, drop me an email at [email protected] and I will post your ideas in my next blog. It is never too late to think about next season or perhaps another showdown with the Lakers in the league playoffs.

    Make-A-Wish Dinner

It looks like this years dinner was a huge success. The dinner sold out for the first time ever. While the numbers are not yet in, it sounds like the team may have surpassed previous years totals. Look for an announcement and presentation of the check to Make-A-Wish during the Fredonia/Buffalo State weekend. Hats off to the players and fans for continuing to support this great cause. Photos of this years event will be posted within the next couple of days. So make sure to check back for those.

    Fan Favorite

Have you voted yet? You have only three more games to vote for your fan favorite for the 2007-08 season. Look for the CDS table in the lobby at the Stafford Ice Arena.
