REDD+ Partnership 

The REDD+ Partnership serves as an interim platform for its partner countries to scale up actions and finance for initiatives to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD+) in developing countries.

To that effect, the Partnership aims to take immediate action, including improving the effectiveness, efficiency, transparency and coordination of REDD+ initiatives and financial instruments, to facilitate among other things knowledge transfer, capacity enhancement, mitigation actions and technology development and transfer.

This website holds information on the work of the Partnership, its aims and progress, and key documents, including the outcomes of Partnership meetings and workshops.

The draft REDD+ Partnership 2013-2014 Workplan has been sent to Partners. The deadline for comments on the first round is due Feb 27 2013.

The REDD+ Partnership is open to all countries willing to support or undertake REDD+ actions.

For countries wishing to become a Partner to the Interim REDD+ Partnership: Please send an official request to become a Partner to [email protected], including contact details to a government focal point. The REDD+ Partnership builds on a voluntary, non-legally binding framework, within which the Partners may develop and implement collaborative efforts for REDD+. This framework is formalized in the REDD+ Partnership document, adopted in Oslo, May 2010. By submitting the request, the country indicates that it concurs with this document. At its next meeting, the Partnership will address the request and welcome the new member.

For organizations wishing to be registered as Stakeholders to the Interim REDD+ Partnership: To be registered as a stakeholder to the Partnership, you need to be affiliated with an organization that is registered as an Observer with UNFCCC. Please send an email to [email protected], including support for this affiliation. For more information, please see the Partnership’s agreed modalities for Stakeholder participation.

Notifications

The final meeting of the REDD+ Partnership in 2012 was held in Doha, Qatar on the 25th of November, 2012.  A PRESS RELEASE for the Event is available here.    

A high-level event was held on the morning of the 5th of December, in the Events building, 2nd Floor, in  the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Doha. The Final Version of the Doha Document is available in English, French and Spanish, here.

VRD UPDATE

The VRD Team is pleased to announce that the results of the 2012 Questionnaire for financing, actions, and results are now available, and can be accessed through the new voluntary REDD+ Database website: http://reddplusdatabase.org/

The new site offers the opportunity to search, summarise and visualise REDD+ financing data in a more comprehensive manner than the previous website. There are a number of new features on the site which are aimed at improving its functionality, these include new funding flow maps, diagrams, graphs and analyses for both the global and country / institution levels. The site now also has a data download feature, which enables users to access the underlying data in the database.
