Mirwaiz Hails Norwegian Parliament. PDF Print E-mail

Chairman APHC Mirwaiz Dr. Mohammad Umar Farooq has hailed the Norwegian Parliament’s recently conducted debate on Kashmir dispute which has once again brought into focus the perils of this long standing dispute and its dangerous implications on international security and stability. In a statement Chairman Mirwaiz has described this Norwegian Parliament’s effort as timely and most welcome step as it has recognized the necessity of the resolution of Kashmir dispute which besides bringing bloodshed and enormous miseries on the people of Jammu and Kashmir is posing a continuous nuclear warfare threat in this part of the world. Chairman Mirwaiz has further said that “the Norwegian Parliament’s debate has encouraged the suffering people of Jammu and Kashmir and has made us hopeful that our sacrifices are not ignored and the world is taking note of our plight and sacrifices for a just cause”.
Chairman Mirwaiz has thanked the Norwegian Parliament, especially those members who took part in the debate and showed concern on the plight of Kashmirs. He has also appreciated the role of Kashmir Scandinavian council and it’s Executive Director Mr. Ali Shahnawaz Khan for espousing the Kashmir cause at International level especially in Scandinavian countries .It may be recalled here that the Norwegian Parliament has conducted an important debate for the second time in a year on the Kashmir dispute on 23rdMay 2013. Earlier the debate was held in 2010 and again in September, 2012 about the existence of unidentified mass graves in Kashmir.

Dictatorial Politics Used To Stop Edigah March on 21st May:Mirwaiz PDF Print E-mail

 APHC Chairman and head of Awami Action Committee Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who is under house for the straight fifth day, said that government resorted to dictatorial politics by stopping Hafta Shohda programme and May 21 Eidgah march by using force and coercion. He said the blatant use of force on the young protesters by using pellet guns which inflicted lethal injuries to them amounts to extreme form of political retribution. Mirwaiz said that Suhail Ahmad Khan son of Abdul Majid Khan of Khalid Colony Soura has been critically injuredafter he was targeted by pellets by forces. He said the injured has been hospitalized in Soura medical institute and is reported to be in extremely critical condition. He sternly condemned the Govt. and security agencies  for targeting Suhail and other scores of youth by pellets.Meanwhile, the spokesman said the APHC Chairman has instructed the legal aid cell of the conglomerate to file a case in the court against the use of pellet gun, pepper gas and chilly grenades by the police and security agancies against the common masses.
 Mirwaiz has thanked people for observing complete a strike in Kashmir on the National day of  May 21 to  pay tributes to Shaheed-e-Millat, shohday-e-Hawal, Shaheed Hurriyat,Shaheed maqbool Bhat, Shaheed Afzal guru, martyrs of 2008, 2009, 2010and all the martyrs who have laid their lives for the supreme cause. By observing the strike, he said Kashmiris have once again shown their resolve with the freedom struggle thereby openly expressing their desire to take the mission of the martyrs forward till it reaches its logical conclusion.

 Following with the third consecutive day of Hafta Shohda programme, a seminar titled “role of religion in the personality development” was organized at Islamia High Secondar School, Rajouri Kadal in remembrance of the political and religious leader of Kashmir and former president Nusrat-ul-Islam,Shaheed-e-Millat, Moulvi Mohammad Farooq on his 23rd martyrdom  anniversary.The seminar which focused on the social and educational reform in the society was convened by APHC chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. Mr Fayaz Kaloo, editor of the noted English daily, Greater Kashmir was the chief guest on the occasion. Number of scholars, academicians, journalists, erudite, and large number of students participated in theseminar spoke at length on the subject.Mirwaiz gave away prizes momentos and trophys to the participants who were adjudged as best speakers.  N. Majid  of Islamia higher secondary school bagged first position while as student of Greenland Public School stood second and Aqsa Islamia College Safa Kadal was awarded third position.
Speaking on the occasion, Mirwaiz said the role of religion in the personality development of individual was immense.  He said that character of a person is the core of personality development. He said that people should shape their lives according to the teachings of Islam and get acquainted with supreme principals so as to become good human beings.  He said it was the duty of conscious people to show the co-religionists the true path of Islam and aware them about their duties towards the Allah SWT.  He said that Islam is a complete religion and the proper code of conduct has been laid out how to deal with different facets of life like economics, social relationship, and politics. He said Islam was not against the modernism. He said it advocates that apart from getting Islamic education, one should get knowledge of science, universe, economics, and of other subjects pertaining to human life.

Mirwaiz Put Under House Detention Again On 21st May. PDF Print E-mail

The Freedom loving  people of Kashmir today observed a complete strike to pay tributes  to  Shaheed-e-Millat Moulvi Mohammad Farooq on   23 rd martyrdom anniversary and thousands of other martyrs who have offered their lives for the sacred cause of Freedom. By observing the strike, Kashmiris have once again shown their resolve with the freedom struggle thereby openly expressing their desire to take the mission of the martyrs forward till it reaches its logical conclusion.
APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who is under house detention,strongly condemned the government for placing restrictions to sabotage the Hafta Shohda programme. He said the programme was purely devised to pay tributes to Shaheed-e-Millat, shohday-e-Hawal, Shaheed Hurriyat,Shaheed maqbool Bhat, Shaheed Afzal guru, martyrs of 2008, 2009, 2010 and all the martyrs who have laid their lives for the supreme cause of Freedom. He said that by imposing restrictions, and creating an atmosphere of fear to prevent the Hafta Shohda programme depicts the sheer frustration of the government as they have miserably failed to suppress the sentiment of freedom rooted deep into the soul of every Kashmiri individual.
