Storage tanks are containers that hold liquids, compressed gases (gas tank) or mediums used for short- or long-term storage.
How to map
Set a node 
at the center of the feature or draw an area 
along its outline. Tag it with man_made=storage_tank.

Possible tagging mistakes
The tag tank=* is used sporadically to tag details of storage tanks. Since it is already documented as a tag for access by military tanks (the ones with tracks, an armoured hull and a cannon) this usage of tank=* is discouraged.
