Journal Entry 3

Week 3

8th October, 2017 11th October, 2017

Sunday, October 8th, 2017

I was supposed to teach on this day, but the students had three different tests, which are spelling,

mental math and Septembers evaluation, which was about English, Math, Science and

Humanities.

Monday, October 9th, 2017

Before starting the first lesson, it was my first time to take the registration and at the same time I

had to make them write the word of the day and spell it. Also, I had to tell them the number of

the day, and the place value of each number within the digits.

Tuesday, October 10th, 2017

Today was the start of the fun activities lesson for grade three students, where each student went

to the activity or club that they had register for during the previous week. Also, I took a part of

the lesson of reading comprehension, which was the starter, where I did a revision for the

students about the elements of a paragraph.

Wednesday, October 11th, 2017

On this day, I was checking the students Math, English and Humanities work in their copybook.

Also, I helped the students completing their work during the second break.

Reflection

This is my third week at the school. I had experienced how much does a classroom teacher does

during a day, which is lots more than what I had imagined. I helped my MST with book and

tests marking. Also, it was a good experience to take the students attendance in the morning and

be their teacher, which was my first time ever doing this during TP, where usually the teacher

would take the attendance herself, anyway I liked it and I hope that I would be able to do that in

the following weeks. In addition, it was my first time attending a fun activity class, where in my

previous TP experiences, there werent any school that had a time to provide just 40 minute in a

week for students to have fun, excluding PE, music and art. Anyway, my next weeks goal is to

be more involved in other activities that the students have, which will help me to know the

students well inured to plan a lesson that will be interesting for them.
