Tinkerbell: Hi Everyone! I’m Tinkerbell. Before we get started … can

you understand what I’m saying? (wait for audience response)
Good … because most humans just hear bells when I talk.

This is the story of Peter Pan and a girl named Wendy, who believed in
him. It begins in the Darling family nursery

Wendy’s a dreamer, loves to tell tales

She has two brothers: Michael and John
Here in the nursery they’re watched by their nanny … a dog!

(Wendy, Michael, John and Nana enter, getting ready for bedtime)

Scene 1 – The Nursery to Neverland

Iridessa: Our story begins on a warm summer’s evening in a quiet street

in Kensington.

Fawn: Wendy, John and Michael Darling are in their house, playing in
the nursery.

Rosetta: They spent all their free time in the nursery, telling stories and
making up adventures.

Silvermist: On this particular evening, the two boys were acting out the
Adventures of Peter Pan and Captain Hook.

Vidia: It was their favourite story. Wendy would always tell them
amazing tales of Neverland.

John: Blast you, Peter Pan.

Michael: You’ll never catch me Hook! Take that!

(Nana is running around after them. Michael pushes a pretend sword under John’s
arm and John falls down on the bed)

John: I will get you for this Peter Pan, you scurvy rat!

Wendy: Come on now boys, you should be in bed it’s getting late. Father
will get mad otherwise.

John: No Wendy, not yet!

Wendy: Come along now

Michael: Do you think he will come tonight? Peter Pan I mean.

Wendy: Don’t be silly Michael. Now … off to bed.

Track 5 – Peter arrives

(Wendy tucks the boys into bed, then gets into bed herself –
Tinkerbell makes a loud entrance)

Peter: Tink, ssshhhh! We don’t want to wake them. I just need to get my
shadow back.

Tink sfx

Peter: Tink! Do you see my shadow? It’s gotta be here somewhere.

(Tink finds the shadow in a drawer and tries to alert Peter but he’s too distracted)

Peter: Come on Tink! You’re usually good at finding things

Tink sfx (shaking her head and stamping her foot, turns to audience)

Tink: It’s awfully frustrating trying to communicate with Peter when he

gets distracted!

Peter: Tink! You found it! Quick! Stop it!

(Peter chases his shadow from one side of the stage to another)

Peter: Quick Tink, pass me that soap.

(Wendy wakes up and spots them)

Wendy: Peter? Peter Pan? I thought that was you. I’m Wendy. Wendy
Moira Angela Darling. Did you come back for your shadow? I found it
and put it away for you. How did you lose it in the first place? Wait… are
you trying to put it back on with soap?

Peter: (frowning) Girls talk too much!

Wendy: Excuse me?!

Tink sfx (gesturing to leave)

Peter: Tink, don’t rush me, I’m talking to Wendy.

(Tinkerbell folds her arms and sulks)

Peter: I lost it when I was here last time. I was listening to your stories
when your dog (points to Nana) spotted me and chased me away.
Fortunately, I escaped, but my shadow couldn’t keep up!

Wendy: You came to listen to my stories? But they’re all about you!

Peter: I know! That’s why I like them so much.

Wendy: Well, tomorrow I’m moving out of the nursery and into my own
room. Father says it’s about time I grew up. So, no more stories I’m
afraid.

(Wendy looks sad)

Peter: Grow up! What? You can’t. I know… you’re coming to

Neverland with us. You never have to grow up there!

Tink sfx (looks at Peter shocked and starts shaking her head)

Michael: (jumps out of bed) John! John! Wake up! It’s Peter, Peter Pan –
he’s here I knew you were real Peter; I just knew it.

John: (rubs eyes and puts on glasses) Peter Pan? Here? In our bedroom?

Wendy: Oh John, Michael … Peter is going to take us to Neverland!

Michael and John: But how will we get there?

Peter: We’ll fly of course. It’s easy. All you have to do is …

Peter: Hmmm, this won’t do. What’s the matter with you? All it takes is
faith and trust and ….

Oh! I forgot. Dust!

Wendy/Michael/John: Dust?

Peter: Yep, just a little bit of pixie dust, Tink … Tinkerbell?

(Tinkerbell sneaking away)

Tink sfx: (whispering to Peter)

Peter: TINK! you need to learn to share – they can’t fly to Neverland
without fairy dust - Wendy kept my shadow for me, it’s the least we can
do. (Reluctantly Tink sprinkles it on the children)

Now think of the happiest things.

It's the same as having wings.
Let's all try it just once more.
Wish I could rise off the floor.

Peter: Okay, now you Wendy.

Wendy: It’s so high
Peter: So?
Wendy: But I’m scared
Peter: Believe!
Wendy: (Screams)
Michael, John: Wendy!
Wendy: I can fly!
Peter: You can fly!
All three: We can fly!

Scene 2 - Flight to Neverland

Instrumental music

Iridessa: They flew up and away from the streets of London towards the
second star on the right.

Fawn: It was a crystal-clear evening and the star shone as bright as a

beacon, showing them the way.

Rosetta: As they flew beyond the star, Wendy, Michael and John began
to see Neverland!

Silvermist: They were almost there! Meanwhile, the lost boys were
waiting impatiently for Peter and Tinkerbell; desperate to know if Peter
had brought them a mother.

Vidia: However, Tinkerbell suddenly flew far ahead of the rest the group.
She had a cunning plan in mind for Wendy.

Scene 3 – The Lost Boys Camp

(Boys are playing in the camp, making bow and arrows etc, Tinkerbell comes flying
in first)

Fox: Tink, Tink – Where’s Peter?

Toodles: Did he find us a Mother?

Tink sfx (shakes head)

Toodles: No Mother? Does that mean no bedtime stories?

Tink sfx (shakes head then starts flapping her arms and pointing to
the sky)

Racoon 1: Tink, calm down what is it?

Fox: A Wendy bird! What’s a Wendy bird?

Tink sfx (pointing to the sky)

Racoon 2: Wait! Something’s coming? What’s that Tink? Shoot it
down?

Tink sfx (nodding and pointing and imitating shooting it down)

Nibs: Shoot it down?

Tink sfx (nodding)

Nibs: Well if Peter said to shoot it down…

Lost Boys: YEAH! SHOOT IT DOWN! READY, AIM, FIRE!

Wendy screams off stage

(Peter storms onto stage; with W,J,M following behind)

Lost Boys: (Overlapping yells and hoorays) Peter, Yay, you’re back! You’re
home!

Peter: BOYS! I bring you a Mother and this is what you do to her? You
blockheads!

Toodles: Did you say a Mother?

Racoon 1: But Tink said it was a Wendy Bird!

Fox: Tink said to shoot it down!

Racoon 2: Yeah, she said you said to shoot it down!

Lost boys: Yeah, it was Tink!

(Tinkerbell sneaks away slowly) Tink sfx

Peter: TINKERBELLLLLLL! Get over here now! I’m so mad at you.

Tink sfx (stamping foot madly and crossing her arms)

Peter: Tink!!! I HEREBY BANISH YOU FROM NEVERLAND

FOREVER.

Tink sfx (looks gobsmacked then stomps off stage but stops to speak to the
audience)

Tink: I’ll make her regret she ever came to Neverland!

Fox: (pointing at Wendy) That’s our mother?

Peter: Yes … and you nearly shot her down

(Lost Boys all look guilty and sad)

Peter: What a fine first impression you boys made. Wendy, John,
Michael, this is our home and these are the lost boys.

Toodles: We’re sorry Wendy Bird

Nibs: Please be our Mother!

Racoon 1: We won’t shoot you down again!

Toodles: No, we promise!

All Lost Boys: We’re soooo sorry!

Wendy: I should hope so too! Maybe coming to Neverland wasn’t such a

good idea, John! Michael! Come on, we’re going home!

(John and Michael are playing with a catapult in the background)

Michael: Home? But we just got here!

John: Yes Wendy, come on this is fun - the boys didn’t mean it, did you?

Lost Boys: (again repeating and agreeing overlapping): It was Tink’s fault,
she made us do it

Peter: Well Tink isn’t here now. I’ll deal with her later.

Wendy: Well … I think it’s time you boys grew up.

Wendy: Yes, I could have been really hurt! And how you can live in this
place is beyond me, it’s such a mess.

Fox: This mess is our home and we like it thank you very much, and as
for growing up that is something we will NEVER do!

Nibs: Exactly, we will never grow up!

Racoon 1: Never grow up

Racoon 2: Never ever!

Lost Boys: EVER!

Michael: I don’t want to grow up either

John: Nor me

Peter: Well then boys, just listen well….

Wendy: Chop Chop, this place won’t clean itself you know.

Scene 4 - Lost boys Camp - Story time

Iridessa: The lost boys helped Wendy tidy up, and true to her word,
Wendy read them a story.

Silvermist: It was the first time that the boys had ever had someone read
to them, and they loved every single word of it.

(Lost boys are all sat around Wendy)

Wendy: And they all lived happily ever after, The End.

Fox: What a great story, can we have another?

Wendy: Maybe later. I want to know about your life here in Neverland.

John: Yes, tell us about the pirates.

Michael: Tell us about Captain Hook.

gizzard!

John: Peter, fly! Or Captain Hook will catch you!

(they pretend to catch Peter)

Michael: He caught you…

(they all laugh)

Peter: Captain Hook and his pirates are what we live for here, he doesn’t
know where we live.

Fox: It’s like a game where he tries to hunt us down and we always run
away.

Nibs: He never catches us.

Toodles: (laughing) Peter and Captain Hook had a sword fight, Peter won.

Racoon 2: (laughing) He chopped off Hook’s hand.

Wendy: Oh my – I always wondered why he had a hook for a hand.

Racoon 1: The he fed it …

Lost Boys: To a crocodile!!!

(They all fall about laughing)

John: I want to see Captain Hook and his pirates.

Wendy: Hmmm, maybe we’re better off not meeting them.

Peter: Oh, they’re nothing to worry about, we always run rings around
them. Hook’s scared of us because I cut off his hand, although he’ll never
admit to it.

Wendy: I don’t think mother and father would like us being in a sword
fight, anyway for now its bed time come on everyone – off to sleep.

Lost Boys: Yes, Mother.

(Blackout)

Scene 5 - Captain Hook’s Ship – Track 9

(All the pirates are lying around looking bored and fed up)

Calypso: (enters from side stage with Coral) Oi, ya scurvy lot. Get on with
scrubbing the deck

Coral: Yeah, ya scallywags. Hook catches you lot lazing about, he’ll
have yer guts for garters!

Calypso: He’ll be ere soon to set a plan for catchin’ Peter Pan

All pirates groan

Stumpy: We've been chasing that pesky Pan for far too long! He always
manages to outsmart us.

Dukes: Yeah. I'm sick of this endless chase. We want some real action!
Right boys?!

Pirates: ARRRRRRR!

Bones: Why can't we sail out to sea? Explore new lands and find buried
treasure?

Scurvy: (nodding) Aye, that sounds more exciting than chasing after a
boy who can fly!

Coral: (considering) Hmm, you might be onto something, me hearties.

Maybe it's time we leave Pan alone for a while and seek out new thrills
on the open seas!

Pirates: YEAH!!!

Calypso: We all need a break from Pan and his lost boys. It’s time to
have some proper pirate adventures!

deck.

Captain Hook: Excellent. Smee… SMEEE!!!

Smee: Yes, Captain Hook! Coming right away Captain!

Captain Hook: Bring me the map of Neverland.

Smee: Yes sir, right away sir! (runs to find the map)

Captain Hook: (to the rest of the pirates) What a glorious day men. Can you
smell that?

(all the pirates start sniffing themselves, then each other and shrugging)

Stumpy: Smell what Cap’n?

Captain Hook: The sea air lads, the sea air. And the best part is, it’s not
full of those stinkin’ Lost Boys and that blasted Peter Pan!

Calypso: Ur right Cap’n. Isn’t life without Pan and the lost boys great.
You know, if we set sail …..

Smee: (returns with the map) The map Captain!

Captain Hook: Agh, if only I could find his hideout! Now … where
could he be?

Pirates: Mermaid Lagoon?

Captain Hook: No... we’ve looked there…

Pirates: Cannibal Cove?

Captain Hook: No! No! been there too…

Bones: One day Peter Pan will get what’s comin’ to him.

Captain Hook: Darn right! I’ll get him back for feeding me hand to that
crocodile.

Dukes: Aye. At least we can always hear the croc coming!

Stumpy: Yeah. Since ya fed it that alarm clock!

Scurvy: Ya can always escape before he catches you!

Pirates: (mockingly) Tick Tock Tick Tock tick …..

(actual tick-tock can be heard) Track 11

Calypso: Why… I can almost hear it now!

Coral: So can I!

Bones: Me too!

Captain Hook: SILENCE!!! Ooo it shivers me timbers just thinking

about it! Listen up you scurvy rats and listen well …

He’s imagining how well you’d fit within his skin

Captain Hook: And Mr Smee, you know the deepest fear that gnaws at

sneak up on me … and crunch and gnash and pulverise … until there’s
nothing left of me at all!

Or you might get eaten by the crocodile

Coral: (yelling) Now get back to work, ya filthy lot!

Rosetta: The pirate crew carried out Captain Hook’s orders.

Vidia: They scrubbed and polished every inch of the deck until it was
gleaming like the sun.

Iridessa: Meanwhile, Captain Hook was heading to the Neverland forest
with a sneaky little plan.

Silvermist: He had heard by now that Tinkerbell had been banished by

Peter and that she was very upset and jealous of this Wendy girl.

Fawn: And Captain Hook thought he might have just the solution for
this...

Scene 6 - I Do Believe in Fairies – Track 12

(Tinkerbell is wandering alone in the forest)

Captain Hook: Why, Miss Bell! Fancy meeting you here in these woods.
All alone? Without Peter Pan?

Tink sfx (Tinkerbell imitates flying and reading a book and flicking her hair etc…
pretending to be Wendy)

Captain Hook: Oh. So, he’s found the boys a mother eh?

Tink sfx (nodding)

Captain Hook: And you want rid of her you say? You don’t like her
being here?

Tink sfx (Tinkerbell shakes her head angrily then looks sad)

Captain Hook: Smee, Coral , Calypso! Come listen to this.

Smee: Yes Cap’n!

Coral/Calypso: Right away Cap’n.

Captain Hook: Miss Bell here says Peter Pan has found the boys a
mother. What say you to that?

Smee: A Mother?

Coral/Calypso: Ooh, how lovely for them.

Captain Hook: Exactly, How lovely! (evil smile) But the thing is, Miss
Bell here doesn’t think this “Mother” should be here in Neverland at all,
and wants US to do something about it.

Smee: (catching on to the evil smile) Why yes, I’m sure we can help out there
can’t we Cap’n.

Coral: We can get rid of her for you.

Tink sfx (Tinkerbell imitates not hurting Peter)

Captain Hook: But we’re not to harm Peter? Oh, I promise not to lay a
hand ….

(Tink sfx Tinkerbell imitates a hook)

… or a hook on Peter Pan.

We will get rid of that “Mother” for you. Just tell us where the Lost
Boy’s Camp is and we can be on our way.

Tink sfx (walks away thinking)

(to the audience)

Tink: What do you think? Should I tell them?

(waits for response – then turns to Hook and nods)

Captain Hook: Excellent! Smee! Get the map will you… SMEE, I SAID
GET THE MAP.

Smee: Oh yes Captain! Right away Captain!

Hook stands whispering to Coral and Calypso looking evilly at
Tinkerbell

Tink sfx - whispers to Hook

Captain Hook: Start at Pegleg Point

Smee acts it out… etc

Tink sfx

Captain Hook: 8 paces left off Blindman’s Buff

Tink sfx

Captain Hook: Hop, skip and a jump across Crocodile’s Creek

Tink sfx – just about to whisper but stops - looks worried. Makes
hook promise not hurt Peter again)

Captain Hook: I give you my word. Do carry on my dear.

Captain Hook: Then north 90 degrees to Hangman’s Tree … So that’s

the entrance to his hideout. Ha!

Did you get all that?

Smee/Coral/Calypso: Sure did Cap’n.

Coral: We’ll have this fixed for you in no time Miss Bell

Captain Hook: Now, won’t you have a drink with me. Flying around all
day must be awfully tiring.

(Smee gets the jug and glasses from Calypso)

Tink sfx (shaking her head)

Captain Hook: Oh, I insist. A toast, to getting rid of this “Mother”

Smee: A toast

Coral/Calypso: A toast

(Calypso pours an obviously labelled “poison” bottle into 3 glasses, but Hook and
Smee only pretend to drink)

Tink sfx (gets dizzy and faints)

Captain Hook: Now with that stupid fairy out of the way it’s time to
make Peter Pan and the lost boys pay. Come on lads!

Smmmeeee!!!

(Peter Pan and John and Michael and a lost boy run in from the opposite side Hook
left, they’re humming “I won’t grow up”)

Fox: Peter come quick! It’s Tinkerbell!

Toodles: Something is wrong with her!

Peter: Oh no! Tinkerbell! I’m sorry. I should never have told you to get
out of my sight, please forgive me!

(Everyone crowds around, the light is fading- the bell sounds faint and Peter finds
the poison bottle)
Michael: Is Tinkerbell alright?
John: She doesn’t look well.

Peter: What? Hook knows where our hideout is? Fox. Toodles. Go back
and warn everyone.

Fox: Will do Peter.

Toodles: We’ll be as quick as we can

Peter: Tink, come on, stay strong.

(picks Tinkerbell up but she is weak)

Michael and John: Tink, please get better, please!

(The light fades)

John: Peter, what can we do to help?

Peter: I’m thinking, I’m thinking!

Tink sfx (she falls to the floor, lifeless)

Peter: No, Tink, don’t say goodbye, you’re my best friend. I need you. I
believe in you! Listen to your heart Tink, and keep the magic alive.

(The light flickers/ Tink begins to
stir)

Michael: It’s working! It’s working!

Peter: No, it’s not enough with just us. We need more. (Talking to the
audience) Can you help? (Wait for response) Ok everyone,
let’s help Tink out. If you believe in fairies help us and say it – I believe

(Tink sits up disorientated)

John: It’s working everyone, keep going!

(Tink stands up)

Peter: Tink, you’re alive (hugs Tink) Well done everybody. I can’t thank
you enough. I thought I’d lost my best friend.

Tink sfx

Peter: You’re right, Tink, it’s time to settle this with Captain Hook. Once
and for all. Come on everyone, let's round up the troupes then off to
Hook’s ship we go!

(Blackout)
-End Scene-

Rosetta: Fox and Toodles ran all the way back to the camp but were too
late.

Vidia: The pirates had already arrived and taken Wendy and the other
Lost Boys hostage.

Fawn: Back on the ship, Hook and his crew were waiting for Peter Pan

Silvermist: Tinkerbell met the Fox and Toodles at the cliff, and led them
towards the ship.

Iridessa: Where Peter and Captain Hook were engaged in a fierce duel.

Scene 7 - Sword Fight on the Ship

Hook: Prepare to die Peter!

Peter: To die would be an awfully big adventure Hook!

Hook: Ha! It will be the last adventure you ever get Pan!

(PoC music, Strobe lights and sword fight with music, music ends when Peter Pan is
holding his sword to Hook’s heart, Hook is laying on the floor.)

Peter: Say it Hook – Say you’re a cod fish.

Hook: NO!

Peter: SAY YOU’RE A COD FISH.

Hook: NEVER!

Peter: You poisoned Tink. And you kidnapped my friends. You took
this too far this time Hook, too far! You deserve to die!

(Lost boys and Wendy arrive all holding clocks – tick tock sound)

Hook: Oh no.. no no no! Anything but the croc Pan, anything!

Peter: Anything?

Hook: I swear anything!

Peter: Then say you’re a codfish.

Hook: (in a low voice) I’m… I… I… I’m a codfish

Peter: LOUDER!

Hook: I’M A CODFISH!

(Everyone laughs out hysterically)

Peter: Now prepare to die!

Hook: B-b-b-But Peter Please!

Michael: He’s just a mean man in need of a mother, Peter.

Wendy: Yes Peter, leave him be, let’s go.

John: He’s learned his lesson, I’m sure of it!

Peter: Let’s hope so! Hook! I swear next time you won’t be so lucky.

(Hook exists feeling embarrassed, Lost Boys blow raspberries and tease him as he
exits)

Hook: Smee? SMEE!

Smee: Ay, ay captain! Comin Captain!

(They all exit)

All cheer

Wendy: Peter, we need to get back. Our mother and father will be
wondering where we are.

John: Yes, I do want to go home now.

Michael: I miss my mummy and daddy.

Peter: Ok, if you must.

Fox: If you go home you will remember us, won’t you?

Wendy: How could we possibly forget you?

(They all have a group hug)

Peter: Right where’s Tink – we need some pixie dust.

Tink sfx (looking sheepish)

Wendy: Of course, I forgive you Tink (they hug)

John: Goodbye, Peter…

Michael: Goodbye, Lost Boys…

Lost Boys: Bye

Peter: Me and Tink will fly back with you to London to make sure you
are safe.

W, M and J: Thank you everyone. We will miss you so much.

(Instrumental music as they fly off)

Rosetta: And so their time in Neverland came to an end.

Vidia: Hook had been defeated and Peter and Tinkerbell were together
once more.

Fawn: As they flew further and further away, they couldn’t help but
smile at the memories they had made.

Silvermist: High up in the night’s sky, Tinkerbell and Peter led the way
back to London

Iridessa: Past the second star to the right, and straight on till morning.

John: Good night Peter.

Michael: Come back soon.

Wendy: We will miss you.

Peter/Tink: Goodbye Darlings

John: I really liked Neverland, but it feels so good to be back home.

Michael: I’m ready for bed, I’m tired Wendy.

Wendy: Of course, we have had a busy time in Neverland. Being a

Mother is a lot of work, I never realised how much our mother and father
did for us. I think it’s time I grew up and gave them a hand. Maybe it is
time I moved out of the nursery and into my own room.

Michael: I think I would like to grow up one day.

John: Me too, as long as we don’t turn out as mean as Captain Hook.

Wendy: I don’t think anyone could be as mean as Captain Hook.

John: Wendy?

Wendy: Yes, John?

John: (yawning) You will make a wonderful Mother one day.

Wendy: Why Thank you John, now off to bed boys. (She tucks them into
bed) Good Night.
