1. You did masters in 2020, what were you doing for the last two years?
2. (Since I mentioned about my RBI Gr B selection) so what will you choose
between the two? (I said ISS because of its diversified nature of work.)
3. What are the health indicators for a society? How will you measure whether
any society is healthy or not?
4. What are the indicators of education level?
5. Suppose you have to take a sample from, say, class of MSc 2020 BHU and do
some analysis, then how will you proceed. Explain every step.
6. What are different types of sampling techniques? Which one is better?
7. Where can we use Non-probability sampling techniques?
8. What do you think of exit polls? Do they follow certain assumptions? How far
can they be trusted?

(I said since sample is not a true representative of the population in the exit
polls, hence it cannot be used to generalise for the whole population.)

1. (Continuing from exit poll question) You said that the sample is not a true
representative of the population in the exit polls hence it cannot be used to
generalise for the whole population. Let us say, I have done sampling
representing each constituency, booth and made it representative. Now will
you trust the results of this sample?
(I said still not sir. Because though we have reduced sampling error, however
non sampling error in the form of response bias is still present. Hence it cannot
be trusted.)
2. That's right answer, so what is the technique of handling this response bias?
(I said there is Hansen-Hurwitz Technique of handling non response. However,
he told me about Randomised Response Technique for handling non-response as
well.)

secure 9m or above score. What would you call these scores? (I was player of the
tournament in my college and secured pole positions in many sports event like long jump,
shot put, etc. so I mentioned that in my DAF. Sir asked me a question which was mix of my
hobby and statistics.)
4. What are the different methods to treat outliers?

2. If you have to check effectiveness of some of the schemes in village then how would you
do it?
3. How would you check the effectiveness of Swach Bharat Mission in a village? What all
factors you would consider?

My advice: If you don’t know any answer then don’t beat around the bush. You can politely say that
you are not aware or not well versed with the asked topic. It will help you in 2 ways: (i) reflect
honesty and (ii) you will remain calm. Because beating around the bush will increase your heart beat,
BP, you will fumble few times and ultimately will shake your confidence.
