The North Country Mavericks pulled off the hat Shawn Simonson, Lyli

Richland County Event
Center as The Brodie
Gorder Memorial took
place in Sidney over the
weekend. Saturday was
the Team Duals for both
the Highlander boys and
the Highlander girls. The
Boys division featured 21
of the finest club teams
from across Montana
and North Dakota. In the
end, our boys finished
“pool play” with a record
of 3-1 and then followed
that up by going 2-0 in
brackets to go 5-1 overall
and finish in 5th Place!
The only Dual loss for the
Highlander boys came
at the hands of the Bison Wrestling Club (Fargo, ND). Friday Team Duals Results
The Bison would go on to win the team title. The five Boys (5th Place out of 21 teams)
wins for the boys came against Williston, Magic City Bison Wrestling Club (Fargo) Dec. Glasgow
(Billings), Stanley ND, Team Champs Gold (Billings Glasgow Dec. Williston
West), and finally Team Brodie (Sidney) to secure 5th Glasgow Dec. Magic City (Billings)

I did not vote to their liking on every vote, but they Amy Rutherford
have to remember I represent 22,000 folks, and not (406) 230-0380
every person agrees on every topic.
Those same folks kept interrupting individuals
who came to hear about bills we are working on that
impact all Montanans on topics like education, taxes,
and housing. I did mention there were 1,440 bill
draft proposals, 1,417 introduced so far, and with 35
already having passed Senate and House, and sent to
the Governor to be signed.
On Wednesday, Judy and I were in Chester
doing some catching up on personal business. I also
stopped by the Liberty County Commissioner’s office
to find out what’s new. We also both enjoyed a meal
and visit with our friends at the Senior Center. They
must have known one of my favorite soups is beef
barley. If you get a chance, stop in; all the meals are
good.
I had to be back in Helena Friday late afternoon
for floor session and again Saturday morning for a
few more hours. Most of the bills were House Bills
that included HB 3, the bill that funds state agencies.
That is what I did, as Judy headed to Wyoming to
watch one of our granddaughters play basketball in
the Wyoming State tournament.
