Crochet Pattern

“Marty the Teddy Bear”

List of Materials:

1. For the Teddy Bear without clothes: Super Bulky/14ply chenille yarn
YarnArt Dolce No.747 – 1.5 a skein, some white yarn for whites of the
eyes, cream color No. 745 for the snout.

For the Teddy Bear in pajamas: Super Bulky/14ply chenille yarn

YarnArt Dolce No.747 – half a skein, No.741 – ¼ a skein, for the
pajamas and cap Himalaya Dolphin Baby No.347 – 1.5 a skein, some
yarn for the snout – YarnArt Dolce No. 745 and white yarn No.741.

For the bear in the main photo I used YarnArt Dolce No.771, for
pajamas No.745, for slippers and snout No.741;

2. Fine/4ply yarn YarnArt Jeans No.70;

3. Glitter safety eyes 16 mm;
4. Velvet brown nose 12*15 mm;
5. Stuffing material;
6. Needle and scissors;
7. Hook 5 mm (or any other hook size you are used to crochet. Select the
hook size to suit your gauge and pattern. Optimal hooks from 3.5 mm
to 5 mm);
8. Lighter.
Abbreviations:

1. MR – magic ring;
2. SC – single crochet;
3. SL ST – slip stitch;
4. INC – increase (2 sc in one stitch);
5. DEC – decrease (2 sc together);
6. CH – chain;
7. DC – double crochet;
8. HDC – half double crochet;
9. HDC2TOG – crochet 2 hdc together
10. * - number of repetitions in the round;
11. (N) – number of stitches in the round

Note!

The toy is crocheted in a spiral; at the end of each round, place a

marker - a thread of a contrasting color.

You do NOT need to make a turning chain at the end of the round,
otherwise you will end up with an unsightly seam! If you are just starting
to crochet, count how many stitches you get in each round. Be careful and
patient, and you will definitely succeed!

A lighter is needed to further strengthen the fittings. I'll tell you about
this during the process.
So, let's start! First, crochet the details for a Teddy Bear without clothes, then
in the pattern below there will be a description for a Teddy Bear in pajamas. The
head, ears, snout and head design are the same! The body is also crocheted in the
same way, but in different colors. The difference is in the description of the legs!

First, there is the description of the head and its details (ears, snout) for two
types of bears, then the legs for a one-color bear (hind legs and forelegs), then the
legs for a bear in pajamas. Then follow the description of the body and assembly.

Don't get confused in navigation)))

Head:

Tip: if you don’t know what “MR” is and how to crochet an amigurumi
ring, then just make two chains and the required number of stitches in the
second chain

1. 6 sc in a MR
2. 6 inc (12)
3. (1 sc, inc)*6 (18)
4. (2 sc, inc)*6 (24)
5. (3 sc, inc)*6 (30)
6. (4 sc, inc)*6 (36)
7. 36 sc
8. (5 sc, inc)*6 (42)
9-11. 42 sc
12. 7 sc, (1 sc, inc)*3, 15 sc, (1 sc, inc)*3, 8 sc (48)
13-16. 48
17. 7 sc, (1 sc, dec)*3, 15 sc, (1 sc, dec)*3, 8 sc (42)
18. (5 sc, dec)*6 (36)
Insert safety eyes between rounds 12 and 13. The distance between the
eyes (from the EDGE of the eye, not from the leg) - 6 sc in the middle.
From the third increase in round 12 (right cheek) - 3 sc, and 3 sc to the
first increase (left cheek).

After securing the plug, burn the legs of the eyes with a lighter and
melt them. Then press with the back of the lighter, thereby flattening the
melted tip. This way you will further strengthen the eyes and they will
never fly out of the toy

19. (4 sc, dec)*6 (30) stuff the head

20. (3 sc, dec)*6 (24)
21. (2 sc, dec)*6 (18) + 2 sc + 1 sl st to align.

Cut the yarn and hide the ends. For sewing on, cut a long thread from
the main yarn. Fold in half and sew on the head, BUT after we have
completely decorated it! Stuff the cheeks well by pushing fiberfill with
your fingers from the center of the head to the edges, distributing it over
the decreases and increases.
Ears, make 2:

1. 6 sc in a MR
2. 6 inc (12)
3-4. 12 sc

Fold in half and crochet 6 sc through

both sides. Leave a long end for sewing
pieces. Sew the ears between rounds 4
and 11.

Snout:

1. 6 sc in a MR
2. 6 inc (12)
3. (1 sc, inc)*6 (18)
4. 18 sc + 2 extra sc + 1 sl st. Leave a long end
for sewing pieces.

Attach the yarn YarnArt Jeans to the safety

nose in advance, then insert it between round 3 and 4, do not forget to pull
the short yarn end to the wrong side of the snout, i.e. hide it inside. Secure
with the plug, use a lighter to burn the tip and pinch to flatten. Sew the
snout between rounds 12 and 19.

Well, how is it working

out?)
Then let's move on to
the design!
Design:

After we have sewn all pieces, make a needle sculpting. Insert the
needle into the opening on the head, at point “A”, then exit through point
“B”, then insert at point “C” and exit through point “D”, then into “D” and
again pull the needle out into the hole of the head - “A”. Gently tighten the
snout, tie the thread into a knot and secure it to the back loop. Repeat the
tightening 2 more times.

Then you can shape the snout, use a brown thread to form the muzzle,
tighten it and tie the ends behind the back loop of the round, then use the
same thread to embroider eyebrows. Fix again and hide the ends inside
the head.
Eyes. Take the main yarn, embroider the upper eyelid, then embroider
the whites of the eyes with a white thread.
Crochet the body! First you need to crochet the legs, because... they are
joined into the body. Crochet for a teddy bear without clothes.

Hind Legs.
Right:

1. 6 sc in a MR
2. 6 inc (12)
3. (1 sc, inc)*6 (18)
4. (2 sc, inc)*6 (24)
5. (3 sc, inc)*6 (30)
6-7. 30 sc
8.(1 sc, dec)*6, 12 sc (24)
9. 6 dec, 10 sc, move the marker of the round
beginning here (18) We just move the marker,
don’t count stitches again.
10-16. 18 sc
17. (1 sc, dec)*6 (12), if necessary crochet 2-4 extra sc, fold in half and
crochet 6 sc through both sides. Stuff the leg tightly to the middle. Stuff
the very top firmly.

Don't stuff stony! Distribute fiberfill to the

sides from the center, gently stuffing the leg.

2-4 extra sc, fold the leg in half and crochet 6 sc through both sides.
Stuff the leg tightly to the middle. Stuff firmly at the very top.

Each hind leg will close from a different

direction. One leg has a closure at the toe, the
other leg has a closure at the heel. The wrong
side of the closure should be on the inside,
closer to the body when joining.
Forelegs.

9-15. 12 sc
16. (2 sc, dec)*3 (9), crochet 2-3 extra sc if necessary, fold in half and
crochet 4 sc through both sides.

Move the marker so that there is a

neat stitches at the end of the legs
when we fold them in half and then
join into the body.
Tail:

1. 6 sc in a MR
2. 6 inc (12)
3. 12 sc
4. (2 sc, dec)*3 (9) + 1 sl st. Leave the end for
sewing pieces.
Sew the tail just above the hind legs, secure the
thread to the back loop in the opening on the body,
and hide it. Then sew on the head with double
thread and your little bear is ready.

!!!!Crochet a Teddy Bear in pajamas! Watch the color change

carefully, it always starts from the last stitch of the round. I.e.
don’t finish the last stitch and change color to a new color when
there are two loops on the hook!!!!

Hind Legs.
Right, start in white color:

1. 6 sc in a MR
2. 6 inc (12)
3. (1 sc, inc)*6 (18)
4. (2 sc, inc)*6 (24)
5. (3 sc, inc)*6 (30)
6-7. 30 sc
8.(1 sc, dec)*6, 12 sc (24)
9. 6 dec, 10 sc. Change color to the main
on the last stitch. Place a marker here! Just
move it (18)
10. BLO 18 sc with the main color (18)
Work around the slippers, attach the white yarn to the front loop
of round 10. Crochet 18 sl st.

and crochet 6 sc through both sides. Stuff the leg tightly to the middle.
Stuff the top firmly.

3. (1 sc, inc)*6 (18)
4. (2 sc, inc)*6 (24)
5. (3 sc, inc)*6 (30)

and crochet 6 sc through both sides. Stuff the leg tightly to the middle.
Stuff the top firmly.

The hind legs also close on different sides. One leg closes at the front,
the other at the back. The wrong side of the closure is on the inside.
Tip: take a smaller hook size for edging. I have
3.25 mm hook, I don’t crochet tightly. Then I tuck
the ends inside the leg with the thinnest hook -
2.25 mm. You need to hide the ends before
closing the leg.

Forelegs.

1. 6 sc in a MR

necessary, fold in half and crochet 4 sc through both sides.

Stuff the legs well up to round 10, and quite a bit until round 15. Do not
stuff the top.

We prepared all the pieces except the body and, of course, the cap. If
you crochet a Teddy Bear without clothes, then continue with the same
color, if you crocheted a Teddy Bear in pajamas, then continue
crocheting with the color for the pajamas))) Don’t get confused!

Crochet the body and join the legs in the process. Then sew on the tail,
and then sew the head to the body. The cap can be crocheted later. It
will be more convenient to measure it.
