OPERATOR
Operator is person, organization or enterprise engaged in or offering to
engage in an Aircraft Operation.

AIR OPERATOR'S CERTIFICATE (AOC)


Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) is the approval granted by a DGCAA to an
Aircraft Operator to allow it to use aircraft for specified Commercial Air
Transport Operations.
This certificate is issued when DGCAA is satisfied that an applicant has
demonstrated that his equipment, organization, staffing, maintenance and
other arrangements are adequate to secure the safe operation of the types
of an aircraft to be included in the certificate and applicant can establish and
maintain a satisfactory method of supervision of these flight operations.
Air Operator certificate is valid for a period of one year from the
date issue or renewal, this certificate can be cancelled or suspended
by DGCAA in case of non compliance with such rules are applicable
and with all operating conditions attached to the certificate at least
to the Flight Safety requirements needed for the issue of such
Certificate.
Operations Specifications
Operations Specifications prescribe the authorizations, limitations,
and procedures associated with the Air Operator’s Certificate issued
pursuant to Civil Aviation Rules and Operating Regulations.

Contents of Operations Specifications:


Its contents are as follows:
 Part “A” General Provisions: This part contains the details of all
aircrafts in fleet e.g. aircraft type, number of aircrafts, aircraft
registration etc.

 Part “B” En route Authorizations and Limitations: This part


contains the details of types of operations authorized e.g. NAT,
IFR, MNPS etc. and types of aircraft to perform these operations.
 Part “C” Aerodrome authorization & limitations: This part
contains the details of authorized type of approaches,
minimums, aerodrome etc.

 Part “D” Maintenance: This part contains the details of aspects


of maintenance which shall be prepared by operators in the
form of Specific Operating Provisions (SOP`s) for all maintenance
work to be carried out on the aircraft & equipment held by the
operator e.g. check , inspection and overhaul time limits etc.

 Part “E” Mass & Balance: This part contains the details that
operator shall maintain control of mass and balance of all
aircrafts operated by him under the terms of Specific Operating
Provisions (SOP`s) e.g. mass of baggage, periodic aircraft
weighing etc.
 Part “F” Interchange of Equipment Operations: This part
contains the details of authorization for Interchange of
equipment operations.

 “G” Aircraft Leasing Operations: This part contains the


details of authorization of all operations under the term of
lease agreement in accordance with the provision of the CAA
operating regulations and rules and the operations
specifications.
AIRCRAFT DOCUMENTS
Certificate of Registration (C OF R): This certificate is issued by CAA which
certify the Aircraft Registration. After the registration of the Aircraft a five letter
registration mark is given to Specific Aircraft.

Certificate of Airworthiness (C OF A): The Certificate of Fitness of Flight.

Certificate of Maintenance (C OF M): The Certificate to be issued by the


Ground Engineer on completion of the Period Of Maintenance certifying that
there are no defects/ damages.

Certificate of Daily Inspection (DI): A Certificate is issued by Ground Engineers


before the first flight on each day after carry out 24 Hourly Check (Daily
Inspection).
 The above mentioned Aircraft Documents must be onboard an Aircraft with valid condition.
