What is Low-Cost PCB Assembly?
Low-cost PCB assembly is the process of producing printed circuit boards and attaching components using methods that lower pricing while maintaining high quality and functional reliability. WellPCB applies advanced automation and strict process control to achieve this balance. Production uses CNC cutting for precise board profiling and high-speed pick and place machines with placement rates up to 600,000 components per hour, supporting fine pitch packages such as BGAs and QFPs.
To reduce per-board costs, low-cost PCB prototype production uses optimized panelization techniques, combining multiple designs or repeating patterns onto single panels to minimize material waste and lower machine setup time. Pre-production gerber files are reviewed using full design rule checks (DRC), identifying potential layout errors or manufacturability issues before fabrication begins.

Our Low-Cost PCB
Assembly Capabilities
WellPCB delivers low-cost PCB assembly by combining advanced production processes with strict quality control and efficient design support. Our capabilities cover a wide range of PCB types, materials, and assembly services to meet the requirements of cost-conscious customers without sacrificing performance or reliability.
We support PCB fabrication for prototypes, small batches, and production runs. Options include FR4, high TG FR4, halogen-free, CEM-3, and Rogers HF substrates. Boards can be produced with 1 to 64 layers, copper thickness up to 1000 μm, and finished thicknesses from 0.1 mm to 12 mm.
Minimum trace width and spacing down to 1.8 mil support complex circuit designs. Available surface finishes include HASL, lead-free HASL, OSP, immersion gold, immersion tin, and immersion silver to balance cost and performance.
Our PCB assembly services cover SMT, through-hole (THT), and mixed-technology builds. Pick and place machines operate up to 60,000 chips per hour, handling fine pitch packages such as BGAs and QFPs with a placement accuracy of ±30 µm.
We also offer low-volume PCB assembly for prototype and pilot production runs, supported by fast turnaround and flexible quantity options.
Soldering uses nitrogen-assisted reflow ovens with controlled thermal profiles. Preheat zones reach 150 °C to 180 °C, soak zones stabilize between 180 °C and 210 °C, and peak temperatures range from 235 °C to 250 °C for lead-free processes. Cooling is carefully managed to prevent joint defects and mechanical stress.
Completed PCBs undergo AOI, X-ray inspection for hidden solder joints, and electrical testing. We also perform Flying Probe, impedance, solderability, thermal shock, and metallographic section analysis based on customer requirements and PCB complexity.
Our factories support prototype runs as small as one board and production volumes into the thousands. Standard PCB manufacturing lead times are 5 to 6 days, with expedited options available in 24 to 48 hours. Assembly lead times vary from 4 to 25 days, depending on quantity, complexity, and part availability.

As an R&D manager, I have had an outstanding experience working with WELL-PCB. For many years, our company has entrusted them with the production, assembly, and programming of the boards developed in our R&D unit, and they have consistently exceeded our expectations.

Hamid Reza Moshayedi
R&D Manager

Their work is very impressively perfect. Today, when they check our company PCB board after assemble. They found a fake short point which many engineers has never found in the past years. But that is just designed so. The PCB board quality is excellent. Their service is also excellent.

MikeZ

My friend introduced WellPCB to me, the first try, a little look forward to. I ordered a 47*72 10ps PCB, and I can’t wait to receive my PCB. So I used expedited service and received my PCB in three days. I tested and soldered the PCB, Quality is really good, silkscreen, plating also great.
