Forensic teams are currently at Barwell Infant School, near Hinckley, Leicestershire, after reports of the body being found at around 7.30am.

The man was pronounced dead by emergency services a short time after.

The pupils were not believed to be at school when the discovery was made.

Pictures from the scene show police and forensic vans inside the school's playground.

Four police vehicles are on the scene.

One person who lives on the street told Leicestershire Live: 'It's usually a quiet road, I mean, you can hear the kids at break time, but not much goes on.

'I opened my curtains at the usual time and saw police cars and an ambulance.'
