Fernando Silva started off his professional career in the enterprise technology space with his primary focus being moving large organizations from onsite legacy technologies to a more modern cloud infrastructure. All the technologies he dealt with were mostly in the Microsoft arena but he was always a lover of Apple at heart.

His love for Apple products started back in 2007 when Steve Jobs announced the first-ever iPhone. From then on, it was a love affair that to this day has only grown stronger. As the years progressed he consumed all sorts of media and content related to Apple and its products. First was the blogs like GSM Arena, CNET, and 9to5 and then he also fell in love with the tech Youtube community.

After picking up the new redesigned 2018 iPad Pro he absolutely loved the form factor and the power that came with it, and he realized that there wasn’t much iPad-related content on YouTube. In 2019 he started his YouTube channel that focused primarily on iPads and productivity. He was able to build his channel and community to 43,000 subscribers.

This ultra-thin Qi2 charger belongs in any travel pack [Hands-on]

With the expected release of the iPhone 17 Air later this year and the recent release of the S25 Edge from Samsung, it looks like the theme of 2025 is all about thinness. Companies are doing all they can to flex their design and physics-defying muscles to show off just how thin they can make products without sacrificing significant features. Now, accessories companies are getting in on the fun, and Kuxiu’s new X41Q charger is impressively thin while staying efficient and powerful. Here is what you need to know!

Nomad levels up its best-selling charger with new 100W slim adapter [Hands-on]

One of my favorite product lines Nomad has made over the years is their slim power adapters. They started with their 35W slim charger, which brought fast iPhone charging in this ultra-slim form factor. Then they released their 65W version that added a secondary port and was tailored to customers needing more juice. Now, they have finally launched their 100W slim power adapter for those who need to charge their larger machines on the go. Here is what you need to know.

Seven tech accessories I keep coming back to [Video]

I’ve tested a lot of gear over the years, from laptops to smart rings to the kind of random tech accessories that get buried in drawers. But out of all of it, there are just a few items I keep reaching for over and over again. There is no method to the madness in terms of the type of accessories, but just know that they work. These are non-Apple tech products I rely on every day.

This Qi2 power bank might be a glimpse at the future of smartphone battery tech

Have you ever purchased a 5,000mAh Magsafe battery bank thinking, “This should fully charge my iPhone or even more because my iPhone battery is smaller”? But then, with real-world use, you only get 50% to 80% charge? This has happened to me on a few occasions. While the mAh measurement of those battery banks is true, Lithium-ion battery tech tends to lose energy through heat, wireless charging inefficiencies, and voltage conversion. But solid state battery tech is here to fix that, and Kuxiu’s S2 has shown me the future.

A tweet asked for a simple finance app: Two hours later, it existed

Every day, it seems like hundreds of finance-related apps hit the App Store. Some focus on budgeting, others on credit card points, investing, or even trying to do it all. While scrolling through X, I came across a tweet from someone who said they just wanted a finance app that tracked three things: what they spent today, this week, and this month. The idea was so simple, yet so valuable. A few hours later, I saw that developer Steven Zhang had actually built it. In just two hours. Here it is.

Turn any iPad into a gaming display with this one simple trick [Video]

As your resident iPad advocate, I will continue to say that the iPad is the most versatile computer on the market. It can be a laptop, tablet, e-book, a notetaking machine, or even a portable display. In this post, we will be focusing on that final piece. iPads have always had fantastic displays for all things media consumption, especially now with the M4 iPad Pro. But what if I told you that you could use that same iPad as a dummy display to play your Xbox, PlayStation, or even your Mac mini? Here is how you do it.

Finding any movie & where to watch it just got easier with new Kernel update

Last year, YouTuber and Apple enthusiast Nikias Molina released an app called Kernel. This app was created primarily to help people discover which streaming service hosts certain TV shows and movies. I use this app a ton as someone with six different streaming providers. If I ever needed to find out where a movie was, I would search it, and it was correct 100% of the time! I love how simple and elegant it was to use. Its newest update now adds Kernel AI, recommendations, and more.

I tested iPhone AI voice assistants: here’s the best one

It’s been about a year since Apple announced Apple Intelligence at WWDC 2024. Since then, Siri has received a visual refresh with its new rainbow animation, text-to-Siri support, visual intelligence, and image generation. Features like Genmoji are also available in iOS 18. However, the most critical aspects of Siri, like being conversational and having contextual awareness, are still missing. Meanwhile, AI assistants like ChatGPT and Perplexity are leaps and bounds ahead of Siri in many ways. So, I wanted to put all three to the test to see who deserves to be your go-to voice assistant on the iPhone today. Here is what I found.

I was lucky enough to get an early look and hands-on experience with Satechi’s new OntheGo line at CES this year, and I was immediately impressed. How I make my iPad Pro feel more like a Mac

For the past seven years, I’ve used an iPad Pro as my main computer. In those years, I have seen the internal hardware match up to the power of MacBooks using the M4 chip, and I have witnessed iPadOS evolve from just a larger version of iOS to carving out its little niche use cases. Although for as much as I love my iPad, most would agree that iPadOS can sometimes feel like it holds that hardware back. But I have been able to change a few simple things that make my iPad look and feel like macOS without giving up the versatility of the iPad.

With the M4 MacBook Air starting at $949 (on Amazon), I have been telling people that this is the most recommendable and best bang-for-buck laptop on the market. But it is not all perfect, with only 256GB of base storage and no additional USB-C ports there is room to add some accessories to make your experience even better. So here are the best accessories for your new MacBook Air!

These new Apple Arcade games will fill you with nostalgia

As someone who grew up in the late 90s and early 2000s, I played a ton of simulation games on my computer. Games like The Sims, Age of Mythology, and Roller Coaster Tycoon are synonymous with my childhood. So when I saw that Apple was bringing the original Roller Coaster Tycoon to Apple Arcade, I dropped everything and put it on my iPad Pro. I was immediately taken back! In that same light, Apple released five other brand-new games that are worth taking a look at!

These iPad accessories give you 98% of the experience for a quarter of the price

As someone who has used their iPad Pro as their main computer for about seven years, I know how magical the accessory experience can be. When Apple introduced its Magic Keyboard for the iPad, I was in awe of its design and function, which transformed the iPad into a full-on computer experience. However, at $350, it is more expensive than a new iPad 11th-gen. So, I’m always looking for cheaper alternatives and finally found a Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil alternative that has exceeded my expectations. Let’s talk about them.

2025 Buyer’s Guide: Deciding which iPad to buy is easier than you think

Believe it or not, Apple’s 2025 iPad lineup is actually much less confusing than in years past. Although, with four main models—the iPad (11th Gen), iPad Mini 7, M3 iPad Air, and M4 iPad Pro—there is still plenty of nuance to understand to make sure you make the right choice. But the reality is that all iPads handle about 90% of the same tasks, such as web browsing, note-taking, streaming, app ecosystem, and creative and professional work, and they all even have the same design language. It’s that final 10%—the extra power, display technology, better efficiencies, and accessories—that makes the difference.

This guide will break down each iPad’s strengths, who it’s best for, and how to make the best decision for your use cases!

Ecobee Essential Thermostat review: Simple and smart, but is it worth it?

I went all-in on Apple HomeKit about five years ago. Before that, my smart home setup was a mess—some accessories worked with Google, others with Apple and Alexa, and nothing felt unified. I wanted everything in one place, so I consolidated everything into the Apple Home app. My first major purchase was an ecobee3 lite, which I got at a discount through my local power provider. Since then, my Ecobee thermostat has been the heart of my smart home. So when Ecobee announced the budget-friendly Smart Thermostat Essential, I knew I had to try it. Here’s my hands-on experience with their latest smart thermostat.

This new Lumafusion feature unlocks even more creativity

At this point, I have personally used Lumafusion for almost seven years and have created well over 1,000 videos on various iPads.
