Submission declined on 8 November 2024 by Ca (talk). This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies. Declined by Ca 6 months ago. | ![]() |
Comment: Almost there, but information like date of birth also needs to be cited. BuySomeApples (talk) 08:24, 29 May 2025 (UTC)
Comment: too much of the article is currently sourced to her own biography on the school website. Is there a source that isn't her own websites for any of this information? The first paragraph of Research also smells like OR because the only citations are papers she has done, nothing saying that the topics are related or what her focus is? Also selected publications should be underneath awards. Moritoriko (talk) 04:51, 12 May 2025 (UTC)

Comment: Way too many unreferenced bold claims. Too many external links in the body. --Johannes (Talk) (Contribs) (Articles) 22:01, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
Comment: Issues include:* "
She is an internationally recognized expert
" Says whom?* "She is a leader in learning design, educational technology, and human-computer interaction.
Say whom?* "As a cross-culturally competent researcher and designer, she emphasizes the importance of examining problems from multiple perspectives to avoid oversimplification and produce solutions that work best for users.
We can't include our own analysis in articles, see wp:no original research. Please add attribution for the opinions. In addition, this draft is sourced to only non-independent sources(that is, sources that affiliated with the subject), contributing to the WP:NPOV problem. Ana-Paula Correia is a Professor of Learning Technologies[1] and the Ted and Lois Cyphert Distinguished Professor in the College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University.[2] She is known for her research on learning design, educational technology, and human-computer interaction,[3] and her work on nomophobia.
Biography
[edit]Correia received a B.S. from the University of Minho, Portugal in 1989 and a M.Sc. in 1996. She moved to the United States where she received her M.Sc. (2001) and her Ph.D. (2005) from Indiana University-Bloomington.[2]
Correia joined the faculty of the School of Education (formerly the College of Education and Human Sciences) at Iowa State University (2005).[4] She subsequently moved to The Ohio State University (2016),[5] where she serves as the Director of the Center on Education and Training for Employment.[6]
Research
[edit]Correia's research encompasses four interrelated foci: online learning and teaching,[7] collaborative learning,[8] human-computer interaction,[9] and curriculum development in educational technology. These areas overlap significantly because they are connected to a central underlying theme in her research: learning design.[10] She also conducts research in the field of artificial Intelligence.[11][12]
Her research on nomophobia,[9] fear of being away from one’s smartphone, led to the development of the Nomophobia Questionnaire (NMP-Q).[13][14][15][16] The questionnaire has been translated and used in similar research in Portugal,[17][18] Turkey,[19] Spain,[20] Italy,[21] China,[22] Germany,[23] France,[24] and Pakistan.[25]
Honors and awards
[edit]Correia received the Best Book Chapter Award from the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) in 2023.[26]
