The 28-point peace proposal developed by the administration of US President Donald Trump no longer exists. Oleksandr Bevz, an adviser to the head of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's office, announced the change on social media.
"The plan in the form everyone saw no longer exists,” Bevz stated. He explained that Trump's proposal underwent a full overhaul and that Kyiv's concerns received full consideration. According to him, several points were removed entirely while others were significantly altered.
Many elements of the US peace plan discussed in Alaska appear acceptable to Russia. Yuri Ushakov, the adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin on international affairs, delivered this assessment, reports TASS.
"Yes, we reviewed one version that aligns with the understandings reached in Alaska,” he said.
Ushakov added that Moscow also studied the European peace plan on Ukraine, but it does not suit Russia. He stressed that even the US plan requires thorough discussion and close examination.
Earlier, Ushakov stated that Russia, Ukraine, the US, and Europe will continue to modify and develop the peace proposal. He emphasized the seriousness of the matter.
Moscow has not yet received a formal request for a visit from any representative of the American side, Ushakov added.
"We have not received a concrete proposal regarding who intends to arrive in Moscow and when,” he said. His comment responded to a question about a possible American visit for further discussions on resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
Earlier, CBS reported, citing sources, that Dan Driscoll, the US Secretary of the Army, might travel to Russia to continue talks on the ongoing peace effort.
