The First Assistant United States Attorney charges;

In or around May 2018, in the Northern District of Ohio, Western Division, Defendant

NABIL SHAHEEN,did knowingly obstruct, delay, and affect, and attempt to obstruct, delay,

and affect, in any way and degree commerce and the movement of articles and commodities in

commerce by extortion, as those terms are defined in Title 18, United States Code, Section 1951,

that is, SHAHEEN aided and abetted Tyrone Riley, a Toledo city councilman,(charged

separately), to obtain property not due to Riley or his office, namely cash and meals, knowing

these things of value were provided in exchange for Riley's official influence, support, and votes

as a member of Toledo City Council.

In violation of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 1951 and 2.
