Malumpati: #NatureAdventure
Renan B. Tunguia

Malumpati is the cleanest body

of water I ever saw and
experienced in my whole life.
The color of the water will make
you believe that clean river still
does exist. The health spring
and tourist resort is a popular
ecotourism spot that features
cold-spring pools in a rich
tropical forest. The resort is
located at Pandan, Antique and
operates daily between 7:30am
to 4:00pm.

Trekking into the deeper part of

the forest was somewhat
uncanny, this activity isn’t new
to me, I had been doing this on
several occasions, but it felt
different, I had this unearthly
feeling. We were walking in the
middle of immense woodland
hearing only a series of nature
sounds, maybe this is one
reason why I felt a little strange.

Following the trail of the

mountain river we reached a big
basin of enthralling water of
monochromatic shade of blue,
we were all mesmerized, funny
that it’s not even the main
lagoon. Another ten-minute
walk we finally got to the main
site, true enough the Blue
Lagoon is an enchanting
treasure of Antique.

We left the area with a notion

that maybe ethereal creature is
guarding the lagoon from the
disdainful presence of humans,
reason why we felt peculiar
while we were doing the trek.

The Malumpati Resort is an

ideal place for those who’d like
to be in solitude and to
commune with nature,
especially during the summer.
Nature trippers will surely enjoy
the place as it’s bounded by
lush green vegetation. Wash
your stress away by taking a
dip in the cool and soothing
waters of Antique’s spring.

“Take nothing but pictures. Kill

nothing but time. Leave nothing
but footprints. Bring nothing but
experience.”

D. Discussing new Let us define TRAVELOGUE!
concepts and practicing
new skills #1 A travelogue is a person’s account of a journey to another country or
place. It can either be a written report with many factual details or a
narrative story about personal impressions and experiences
supported by images.

Travel writers are successful because they describe places in such a

way that the reader can remember them.

They create vivid pictures in the readers minds using descriptive

techniques. Travelogue writers must make sure that what they write
appeal to the five human senses of the readers for them to have a
clear picture of what he/she is trying to portray.

E. Discussing new concepts & There are three elements of a travelogue: introduction, main body,
practicing new slills #2 and conclusion.

1. Introduction - catchy, attractive, and short – these words are

the main characteristics of your perfect introduction. The
main purpose of this part is to grab readers’ attention, so
don’t forget to add an awesome photo about your journey.

Example: Malumpati is the cleanest body of water I ever saw

and experienced in my whole life. The color of the water will
make you believe that clean river still does exist. The health
spring and tourist resort is a popular ecotourism spot that
features cold-spring pools in a rich tropical forest. The resort is
located at Pandan, Antique and operates daily between
7:30am to 4:00pm.

2. Main body - the heart of your writing. Try to alternate useful

facts with poetic descriptions of beautiful landscapes. In such
manner, your readers will get necessary information and
won’t get bored reading your travel blogs.

Example: Trekking into the deeper part of the forest was

somewhat uncanny, this activity isn’t new to me, I had been
doing this on several occasions, but it felt different, I had this
unearthly feeling. We were walking in the middle of immense
woodland hearing only a series of nature sounds, maybe this
is one reason why I felt a little strange.

Following the trail of the mountain river we reached a big basin

of enthralling water of monochromatic shade of blue, we were
all mesmerized, funny that it’s not even the main lagoon.
Another ten-minute walk we finally got to the main site, true
enough the Blue Lagoon is an enchanting treasure of Antique.

We left the area with a notion that maybe ethereal creature is

guarding the lagoon from the disdainful presence of humans,
reason why we felt peculiar while we were doing the trek.

3. Conclusion - the character of the conclusion depends on your

general purpose whether if you want to thank locals or
friends for their hospitality, express your gratitude in a
closing paragraph or if you want to encourage your audience
to visit this destination. You may add a motivational phrase
at the end of your travelogue.

Example: The Malumpati Resort is an ideal place for those

who’d like to be in solitude and to commune with nature,
especially during the summer. Nature trippers will surely enjoy
the place as it’s bounded by lush green vegetation. Wash your
stress away by taking a dip in the cool and soothing waters of

F. Developing Mastery (Leads Group Activity:

to Formative Assessment 3) As part of the competition, MR.
and MS. SBIS Traveler 2023, we
are going to visit BORACAY.

Here’s what you are going to do.

After the trip, you are expected to
write a draft of your Travelogue by
answering the following guide
questions:

1. Why am I in this place?

What’s the purpose of the
trip?
2. Who else is/are on the trip?
3. Am I fearful/happy?
4. What are the activities I did?
5. What is my impression of the
