after 3 s and the second echo 2 s later.
Calculate:
(a) the speed of sound. (b) the distance of the other cliff from the person. [3]

(i) There are three pins in an electric plug top. Answer the following:

(i)A solid of mass 50 g at 150°C is placed in 100 g of water at 11°C, when the final temperature recorded is
20°C. Find the specific heat capacity of the solid. (Specific heat capacity of water = 4.2J g-1°C-1) [3]
(ii) Some ice is heated at a constant rate, and its temperature is recorded after every few seconds, till steam is
formed at 10 °C.
